So how was it offside?

 

Allison moved forward in front of Van Dijk and Robertson. Benzema was slightly ahead of Van Dijk so Robertson essentially took the place of the "keeper" (well, the position the keeper is usually in during offside situations).

 

I think that's a silly rule. No outfield player should act as the keeper

 

He's not "acting" as the keeper. The rule is last man before the person who is usually the keeper. As Allison had moved up that person became Robertson. Has always been the rule.

 

I don't like saying it but RM look more dangerous to me so far despite being outplayed at different points

 

My fear here is that Liverpool will dominate and Madrid exploit a gap at the back and counter…
