Josh is gonna be small at 147 and his style doesn’t exactly match up well with the top guys. Spence would grind him down and put a nasty beating on him. Bud would clown him and then KO him in nasty fashion. Boots would outbox him until he decides he’s ready to sleep him. Ortiz would KO him very early without much fuss. And even the lower tier guys would probably beat him. He’d have a better chance against Thurman or DSG but those guys are washed and irrelevant. He pretty much as no choice but to stay at 140. He owes Jack Catterall a rematch.
agREED... As Looooooong as Josh Taylor Remains @ '40, He OWES Jack Catterall a RE, Eventually...If Making Weight ISN'T an Issue, Go Ahead and RIGHT That Particular WRONG... Zepeda's NOT a Bad Choice of Opponent @ All Though, and Josh Will Need to Be BETTER Than He Was vs. Catterall to Retain His Titles...Zepeda's a Harder Puncher Than Catterall.... REED
I used to think Josh would beat Teofimo but I doubt it now. Sure we may not know how Fimo will come back but he has the kind of style that Lopez could shine against.
I dont think Taylor would be an issue for Spence or Bud. They would beat him up terribly. So would Ennis. He BARELY squeeked past Regis on the best day of his career. Barely. And Regis destroyed his face. Crawford and Spence would fuckin kill Taylor, let's be real. The rest of the welters, Taylor could give them a go.
Unless he's one of those rare fighters that can carry his speed and power into higher weight classes like Pacquio. But I doubt it. All the top guys at 147 probably beat him pretty badly.
Yeah, Pac is a generational fighter. Josh is merely "good." Ain't happening. Another problem for Taylor is that he's pretty dependent of his physical strength. He's strong... for a junior welterweight. He would quickly find that Crawford, Spence, Ennis, and Ortiz are stronger, in addition to just being more talented.
