Fimo claims he wanted Ramirez for his comeback fight and Ramirez turned it down. Ramirez's manager is calling Fimo a liar and saying that no offer was made, that Ramirez would sign for free to fight Lopez. I dunno. I more believe team Ramirez. Fimo's coming across as kind of a liar and bullshit artist.
He just took an L and is moving up in weight, he deserves a soft touch first. Teo against Zepeda or Ramirez would be nice. I personally would like to see a Matias match up.
It's not the fact that he lost thats most alarming. Its the fact that he's in denial and doesn't feel he did anything wrong. It suggests he doesn't think he needs to change anything.
I appreciate the effort in making this thread but dont really give a fuck who Tweek-o-Fimo Lopez fights next. As far as I'm concerned he. Rolly and Kambozo are bums.
Lopez is gonna come back with a vengeance and do big things. very talented fighter who had a hiccup based on various factors. tactical error by his team sticking around a weight class he clearly outgrew for an artificial payday against a mediocre opponent. if he gets the josh taylor fight at the end of this year he will win via brutal KO
I dunno who wins Lopez-Taylor tbh. Both are vulnerable right now. Both started believing too much of their own hype. Both are in denial that they lost their last fights. They seem perfect for one another. Both are hot headed dicks. It's fucking hilarious that Taylor ripped Fimo in the media non-stop for underestimating Bosos - only for Josh - to do the SAME FUCKING THING! I think if Fimo fought to 100% of his potential that he would beat Josh; he's simply the more dynamic talent of the two. I'm not confident of it though. To me, it's basically a 50-50 matchup.
In Josh's defense though, I think Catterall is less mediocre than Kambosos. Catt is far from elite, but he can box a bit. Bosos is fuckin trash. At least when guys like Tyson and Curry suffered their major upsets, it was against underachieving guys with a lot of talent. Douglas and Honeyghan could fight. Fimo just lost to a straight up scrub.
Catterall is the very definition of 'awkward southpaw' for me. He isn't the best fighter but he's going to give lots of people horrible nights and I expect not many people are going to look good against him even if they win. Saying that, Josh definitely owes him a rematch.
Shit could backfire for Josh, because it's looking like he'll face Zepeda next. Zepeda is Catterall with power, so Taylor's in trouble if he shows up like he did against Jack. I'm predicting we won't see a Taylor-Catterall rematch. If Taylor gets by Zepeda, and assuming Fimo takes care of that no-name bum in August, then I would expect we see Taylor-Lopez in late 2022/early 2023.
I still have a bit of soft spot for Fimo, so maybe I'm STILL overrating him, but I feel like Lopez at his very best would be too much for the trio of Haney/Tank/Taylor. Not bothering to mention the Instagram fraud with that group. Problem is, now I don't trust Teofimo. He could very well lose to Haney, Davis, or Taylor. If I'm team Lopez though, Taylor would be more ideal than Haney, cause Josh is there to be hit. Fimo's a counterpuncher. Josh would give him a lot to counter. I could definitely see Josh walking into a Lopez bomb and getting taken out. I get the feeling that Fimo would struggle with Haney's jab and movement, and would have issues trying to counter him.
Fimo is going to KO whatever top guy he get his hands on first…Haney, Tank, Ryan…they all getting it.
The fact that Tank was having Hell trying to reach Rolly leads me to believe that the real Teofimo is too much for Davis. But if Fimo fucks around, gets lazy, and leaves an opening... we know what Tank can do. He has the power to stop anybody 130-140 if he catches them clean enough. It's not a fight Lopez should lose though. If he used all his ability, he should knock Davis out, because Davis doesn't use his jab for shit, and would be reaching out for Fimo. Lopez should be able to walk Tank into bomb after bomb. With Haney, its not as simple. Haney isn't stopping these guys, but he's hitting them sharply enough to keep them honest, and that's all it takes. I dont see Fimo outboxing Haney, so he would have to bank on taking him out. Ryan? Fimo should fucking retire if he loses to Ryan.
