    :Jest:

'Followed FFP' my hole: Everton could face Premier League investigation as Leeds and Burnley raise FFP concerns

Everton haven't followed FFP at all. They've frittered away a fortune, on mostly shite, while trying to cook their books. Now they are being looked at, they've had to tighten the ship. Some of the money makers at EFC have blown is eye-watering.

Honestly i dont know how it works but Everton are the last people I'd imagine had any money to break rules with and the last people would spend it wisely if they had.

I don't mean that as an insult either. Spending money wisely is, as LFC have demonstrated, an acquired skill.

Muscle is down though. I may need readjusting.

The pants i wore to Scotland need new holes in the belt.

That's as good news as any micro analysis i suppose.

    Question! Irish, Slice, Feebes, X

When we were kids and playing fitbaw (or armies!) The two captains decided who got to first pick of teammates by playing 'tick-tack' first

They start 30 feet apart and start advancing towards each other in alternating heel to toe foot lengths.

    Tick
    Tack!
    Tick
    Tack!

Whoever stood on the other kids toe picked first. Usually you were allowed to turn your foot sideways once.

    Is that a thing elsewhere?

Nope, not for us. It was a simple 'ching Chang walla' for first pick here ('rock, paper, scissors', if you prefer)

So basically it was all about funding and budgets, even then :Jest:

LMAO. Two clubs that Everton passed by in the final weeks started panicking and blew the whistle. Let me know how those investigations go. :zzzzz

He asked why Everton aren't spending money. That's the main reason. And yes, since Moshiri took over he's wasted a shitload of money on mostly crap. Go on to any EFC site and it's the #1 complaint by far. He meddles in the decision making and he obviously doesn't know shit about football.

This is a legit massive result, there's been three this Summer alone

Livingston, Ludigorets and now CSKA Sofia beaten by Irish clubs.

I can't really emphasise how big this is for an Irish side to do. It's akin to Blackburn doing Bayern tomorrow

Brondby or Basel next. These guys are also Champions League guys. I think €1m is shit money for a side that small to be getting if they play and beat what are essentially teams with a recent and prospective Champions League pedigree.

Our players don't even have fancy names.

    Anto? Billy? Barry?

Sounds like the round up on the yard at primary school.

Sorry bud, but Everton have been taking the piss out of FFP for years. It is widely publicised: Everton strategy now 'crystal clear' after £300m+ FFP ruling - Maguire

It's genuinely mind-blowing how badly Moshri had spent that money and how poor his attempts to cover it have been. He tried to write down about £170m as 'covid losses' at one point.

    MTF lol

    They were Covid losses.

Covid was on and Everton were losing.

    Covid Losses. Accountancy 101.

    Or 1-0 if you're Arsenal.

That's not certain. Fine weather, newly promoted side on the opening day, at home, they'll put in a performance.... 4 months from now they'll be easy meat but not today.

Its usually the case, a recently promoted side yet to be bitten in the ass by the reality of life in the big time will always fancy their chances. Give them a few months and they'll be losing 2 out of every 3 as the season grinds on. By April they'll be hanging on. If not Fulham, then both of the other two promoted sides.
