Against Pedro Campa. I've never seen Campa fight before, but here are highlights: Looks like he does have good pop, so Fimo can't be defensively reckless. But a fighter of Lopez's ability has no business losing this fight. If Lopez doesn't blow him away inside of 6, then it isn't good. So let's hope that Fimo handles business, and that Taylor wins the Catt rematch, so we finally get Lopez-Taylor next year.
I can't stand that guy Fimo. He better step up, bigly, and soon. This entire scowling hard man approach just annoys and bores me. If he boxes well and looks the part then great.
Not necessarily. I think that was kind of the mindset against Kambosos. Based upon the highlight video Campa won't be hard to find so there's no need to try looking spectacular. I think it would be better professionally if he just takes it as it comes and not even think about some over/under number. I'm not saying he should jab and move the entire time, but getting some rounds in would be more beneficial than taking out the guy early.
I thought Teo recently had a fight...I would be okay with another quick turn around tune up, I guess I had him confused with Ryan Garcia...anyway. 9 months after being surprised by an lightly regarded/unknown/average fight he steps in the ring with another unknown/average fighter...
It’s His Ol’ Man More Than Anything… ’Fimo’s a Chill, Funny Dude at the Core, He just Has a Thirsty Ass, Piss Poor Influence Guiding His Ship… REED
With the Garcia's, it was more a case of what REED is talking about: Angel was an annoying dick, but Danny always came across as pretty down to Earth, and chill. This is different. Fimo Junior is demonstrating more and more that he's a prick just like his dad.
Tweek o Fimo man fans think he's better than he is. I never thought he was anything special or saw what the big fuss was about. Styles make fights he was just the guy that beat Loma. But that doesnt make him special. Plenty of good fighters lose to average fighters. Ali lost to Norton, Tyson to Douglas, Lewis to Rahman, Tzyu to Phillips ect...10 years from now no one will remember this scrub or his annoying father.
I like watching Teo's fights since he comes to fight and hurt the opponent but I can't stand his personality. Guy comes off as very unlikeable, and even after his first loss I would have thought he would be more toned down and humble but it doesn't seem that way. His dad is obviously a big influence to his personality but I was hoping he would drop him.
Everyone's CAPABLE of Being Unlikable; We've ALL Had Unlikable MOMENTS...Sometimes There's REASONS, Sometimes There's EXCUSES... In the Case of 'Fimo, Dude's Been Going Thru the Proverbial "Ringer" for Some Time Now: 1. Prior to the Nakatani Fight, 'Fimo Wedded a Young Lady his Mother VEHEMENTLY Disapproved of Him Marrying....Sooooo Much So, 'Fimo's Mother and Sister DID NOT Attend the Wedding... 2. Now, In His Most Recent Interview w/Kriegel, It's Revealed 'Fimo's ALREADY a Single Dad Who BARELY Sees the Child He Had w/the Female He Married Like 5 Minutes Ago... 3. Post Loma, Triller Wins the Purse Bid and Reschedules the Kambosos Fight Half a Hundred Times...All the While, 'Fimo, Who was ALREADY Struggling to Make '35, Is Having to Do His Best to Maintain a Reasonable Walk Around Weight... 4. 'Fimo Also Revealed He Had SUICIDAL Thoughts Leading Up to Kambosos, in the Kriegel Interview...No Doubt Related to His Crumbling, Flimsy Ass Marriage… Singularly, None Of These Incidents Seem Like "Over the Edge" Moments, But it's CLEAR 'Fimo's Juggling a LOT...What's Also CLEAR is Opposed to the Strong, Steady, Mature Approach a LEADER, a FATHER Should Provide His Son, 'Fimo's Got a Sychophantic, Cheerleading, Clout Chasing ENABLER Instead... Reasons???...Excuses???... Until the Kambosos Post-Fight, 'Fimo Always Came Across as a Tongue-In-Cheek Type of Dude, More Than a Sheer ASSHOLE...REED Thinks it's PREMATURE To Dump 'Fimo in the Unlikable Pile and Tell Him to Live Happily Ever After... REED
Teo did as expected. He looked good, but not too much to take from it as Campa is a journeyman. Teo certainly has the talent to beat Taylor. It's just about staying focused... and sparring longer than 2 weeks...
Cute shoulder roll moves. But try that on JT or Ramirez and he'll find himself with his ass on the canvas again. Easy to look like Mayweather against a journeyman like Campas and even the stoppage was a bit premature imo. The whole card was plagued with poor refereeing. First the Xander fight was stopped prematurely then the Fimo fight. He got the w I guess but I question his power at 140. He wont be able to impose his will on Prograris or JT. Tried that cute flashy shit on them and it will be Maidana-Broner all over again.
Nothing premature about that stoppage. Fimo was landing over double the connect % as his opponent, had just dropped him hard, and the guy was completely turtled up and still taking massive damage. If a ref can’t step in when a guy is that outgunned then why even allow TKOs??!
It's up to their discretion. Some referees would allow it to go one or two more rounds. He was getting hit a lot but that was because he was a journeyman who was a plodder and slower than molasses. I have no problem with you thinking it was a good tko stoppage. My only point was that Fimo's punches at 140 may not have the same effect as they did at 135. Hes not a big fish in a small pond anymore.
Taylor and Prograis are big threats to Lopez. Ramirez, not so much. Lopez would beat Ramirez up badly.
agREED on Taylor, Due to Josh's Handspeed... Shoulder Rolling Would Work on Ramirez Though, but the KEY to Ramirez is Keeping HIM on His Backfoot...He's a Completely Different, More EFFECTIVE Fighter Coming Forward, vs. Moving Backwards...'Fimo UD's Ramirez Or Stops Him VERY Late... The Taylor That Beat Prograis and Ramirez BEATS 'Fimo, as Much as REED Hates to Say It...But 'Fimo Can Certainly Beat the Taylor That Squeaked By Catterall.... 'Fimo-Prograis is 50/50... REED
I think Taylor is probably on the slide. His style takes its toll on a fighter. I think Fimo’s youth wins him that fight. Prograis beats Fimo IMO.
