I'm more embarrased for Robert Garcia. He cant get a break. Loses every Major fight he's involved in. AJ hiring Garcia was a sign of desperation.
Garcia did a brilliant job. He basically tuned that engine to within an inch of his life but the race plan couldn't make up for the lack of horsepower. But Robert achieved this much.....It must be the first time members of the Garcia clan have been in the ring and had somebody make a bigger clown of themselves than they did.
Joshua unravelled, mentally. Got a very generous SD, started grabbing belts which werent his, threw them about, started threatening people in the ring, grabbed a microphone, rabbited on about himself, swore a lot, made everything about him, fucked off. Utterly embarrassing. MTF
Usyks hands were brilliant in those final 3 rounds. No heavyweight has moved his hands like that since probably Holyfield.
The damage-limitation boys will be about tomorrow to say otherwise. In his defence, what you witnessed was years of pressure being released. Literally every negative thing he's harboured ...like the Marciano comment...:"I'm not 14 fuckin stone".....that was a life of harbouring criticism and no way to deal with it or compartmentalise it.
Absolutely. All that media training, everything...he just abandoned it. That was AJ uncut. The real him. MTF
First off, the DAZN stream is terrible. I will never watch another fight from them again. Second of all. I had it 8-4 Usyk. Credit to AJ for making some adjustments and having a better performance but Usyk was the better man. Third of all, Usyk showed some clear ring rust. If he was more active, he’d have stopped AJ, imo.
I disagree. I still think he can continue to fight. He just dont have no dog in him. Refused to impose his will on the much smaller usyk. But he can continue fighting. Just because he lost dont mean his career is done.
Neither are really good imo, even if they each got something that can make them tough to beat against certain opponents(Joshua, size and athleticism, Usyk, awkwardness and workrate). Still, either would be easy work for the Gypsy King if he decides to un un unretire
It was in a sense but it was also worrying. It must be a terrible thing to be a giant muscular man with millions of dollars and feel like a bug in a jar. He's literally just unpacked 20 years of his life, on tv, in front of the World in a 30 second stream of garbled profanity. It was a Y2K "i coulda had class, i coulda been a contender, you shoulda looked out for me just a little bit" .... It was sad, in a way... The whole " i had to go to learn how to fight, in case i eent to jail". Usyk learned to box for nights like this. AJ learned to box so he didn't get buggered in the showers. That's what AJ was trying to say. He was trying to say "I was never supposed to be here. I only got into this by accident. Usyk was groomed. He was polished and drilled and rehearsed. And i still nearly won. Judge me as a limited contender who went further than he should have rather than as a cossetted champion who failed" He just didn't have the ability to say it........... plus it wasn't his turn to speak.
