    It's not really analogous. Haaland had a lot of options and basically signed on with BVB (and his scummy agent) knowing in advance it was meant to be temporary. Contractually, verbally or both it was something agreed on. If he was more "locked in" they would have just told Citeh to meet their demands or fuck off like Spurs did with Kane. Dortmund received more for Dembele and Sancho than they did for Haaland. :mad:

    Prime tie in the Carry-On cup is Man City Vs Chelsea.

    HOLDERS LIVERPOOL will face Derby County at home .

    They must have restructured it as I never realized you had to wait until Nov 8 to get a game in it, used to be earlier no?

    This isnt 'quite' like the above but....

    Apparently when questioned about it afterwards City's manager Howey said he'd told them to play back to the keeper from kick off because he hadnt played for months and they wanted him to get an early touch to settle his nerves. LOL!

    Winnable for Newcastle
    "Howey The Lads" :Jest:

    There have been some shit houses managing premier League sides, all of them with their unique "philosophical" approaches to games....Boothroyd, Holloway, Curbishly, Pardew, etc etc.

    One guy who always caught my attention, this is from yore, was the guy Malcolm Allison.

    Seemed a total chancer.

    As for that saddo Keeper

    * Heavy touch
    * Stumble
    *Panic
    * Stupid despairing dive

    Should get a coaching badge for that. They should do one of those "Seconds from Disaster" series about him.

    Random thought about bygone European games. After the treble treble game at Hampden I was having a celebratory in McNeils in Govanhill and ended up chatting to an auld yin who'd gone over to see Celtic play Ajax, Cruyff et al, in Amsterdam (2-2 draw). Celtic were in the lower tier and there were alot of missiles being thrown .....midway through the second half he sees something huge pass through his peripheral vision, turns around and his mate is lying unconscious on the concrete. He's been hit by a fucking child's scooter thrown from the upper tier! Say what we will about modern fitbaw but nobody misses that

    Little acknowledged fact today but the Dutch were known scumbags in the 70s and early 80s so much so much verbals was made of them being in the same group at Euro 88....and Italia 90.

    Same weight today as last week. Baffling. Must be water related....at least two days last week I was in total deficit, that's to say my exercise + BMR requirements put my calorific intake into a negative

    Eg 800 calorie walk plus 2200 calorie daily needs minus 1200 calories = 1800 deficit.

    And there were fucking two of those...the others went into negatives to a lesser degree.

    And clothes fit better. Had to put a whole four inches back on the belt. Old pants, the 9nes I wore to CELTIC PARK CELTIC PARK are basically not staying up.

    Obvious dip in my midriff. Looked thinner over the abs.

    So very bemusing. Might be the oxo cubes, too much salt.

    Ajax fans have been among the worst for crowd trouble that Celtic have faced in recent years too.

    Im just thinking tho- if we draw Chelsea. Holy shit, I dont think there are enough polis left in the whole uk to deal with that. Linfield would be over, every BNP arsehole in west London and theyd get free drinks in every hun pub in town. Itd be bad.

    It'll be 'the ceremony' starting at 5pm, id imagine....unless they've booked Cantona's to bewilder Ronaldo with more Shakespier and musings on the philosophical implications of nextgen biotech, i'll tune in about 5.40

    Jesus. It isn't a bad road, at all, lot of very cool looking places and a grand church, few intersections, which always helps....lovely big cheap apartments just around the corner too. It's not a bad area at all.

    I found it boring, personally. Square miles of identical buildings framing identical streets where groups of people wait obediently for the traffic lights in identical collections of outfits. The edgy counter culture bit is hippies smoking weed next to a big pond feeding ducks. I mean its impressive....you can see its incredibly well run and egalitarian. But it reminded me of the talking heads song: heaven, heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.

    Celtic & Liverpool have drawn together three times before in 66, 97 & 03 but I don't think Rangers and Liverpool ever have? Celtic haven't played Real Madrid since 1980 (2-0 home, 0-3 away) so a this was really *thee* glamour tie. Im pure buzzing, MON THE CELTS

    Full draw:

    Group A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers

    Group B: FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge

    Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Viktoria Plzen

    Group D: Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting CP, Marseille

    Group E: AC Milan, Chelsea, FC Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb

    Group F: Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk, Celtic

    Group G: Manchester City, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Copenhagen

    Group H: Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Benfica, Maccabi Haifa

    Have to favor the the top seeds in each to go through as usual. Inter, Celtic and Napoli probably being the top 3 underdogs. I haven't paid very close attention for a while so it could be more name recognition than actual quality i'm basing it on.

    Group d seems the most evenly matched, not huge amounts between the 4 albeit Spurs will be favourites

    Agreed. Spurs are probably on a higher level right now than the other three and they made it to the final only a few years ago. They have to be favored to go through at a minimum. Second spot seems up for grabs.

    Only way that happens is if Haaland does some pro wrestling style "heel turn" and deliberately scores own goals. :(

    I looked into it- in their full 130 odd year history, remarkably, RFC & LFC have only met once and it was just a friendly at Ibrox which Rangers won 1-0
