Fury and Usyk clearly need each other for a career high payday and also a legacy boost. The winner of this fight would be seen as the best HW of this era.

Where does Tyson Fury rank amongst the best HWs if he beats Usyk?

How high does Usyk rank alongside Ali, Foreman, Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, etc. if he manages to beat Fury?

Fury would still make more for a joshua fight than a usyk fight

Usyk's getting overrated as all fuck. I couldn't put him over any of those guys.

He outboxed a bum who lost to ANDY FUCKING RUIZ! Relaxxxxx!

Fury himself is overrated, so if Usyk beat him, I ain't putting him up there with no goddamn Ali and Holy.

A bum? Wow that's harsh. I wouldn't call AJ a bum. But I do feel that there were some very high expectations that he didnt live up to over across the pond. Those Brits really make these guys superstars. Boxing is kind of a niche sport in the U.S in my opinion. When compared to the nba, nfl and MLB there is no comparison. But over in un boxing is huge and an AJ fight is a big event...Like superbowl big. So in summary AJ was overrated as fuck by UK casuals but the guys that knew boxing figured it out long ago. I thought he could beat Usyk in the rematch but didnt have that fire..,that dog in him. No matter what trainer he gets you cant teach that. I dont know how great Usyk could be when its all said n done. There are similarities between Holyfield and Usyk since both captured crowns in Cruiser and HW. But thats where it ends. Holyfield beat tyson. Usyk beat joshua. Holyfield's resume trumps anything Usyk did or will do. I do feel Usyks win over AJ is greater than Roy beating Ruiz. If we are being honest.

I could see many many occasions in Holyfield career where he'd get beaten by Fury or Usyk.

    Which Foreman? Which Holyfield?

I think Usyk could really badly befuddle versions of both the older and younger Foreman.

He's not going to be there to be hit like Frazier and lets face it, Usyks not any smaller than Frazier.

This isn't a George Chuvalo clone, he won't be stood there demanding to be hit.

George better get on him, early.

Fury would arguably be top 10. Usyk would still need a couple of quality wins to reach this status but his stock would skyrocket and could not be considered a blownup cruiser anymore

    Right?!

Roy Wasn’t Even a Crusierweight, Nevermind a Heavyweight…In Fact, Roy was an UNDERSIZED Light Heavy…

Nonetheless, Dude was Compelled to Say Usyk Did MORE Than Roy @ Heavyweight???…

Clearly, Roy Resides RENT FREE In Dude’s Head…

I've called John Ruiz shitty his entire career.

    What's your point now?

Start charging Roy. Cause right now he lives in your head rent free.

Usyk clearly has done more at heavyweight than Roy Jones, including beating an actual heavyweight or two.

Not sure what, if anything, it has to do with the price of fish.

I thought the question was where does Usyk rank if he beats Fury. I think if he beats Fury it would be huge.

For a cruiser to move up and beat the linear champ and become the undisputed hw i dont think that has ever been done before. Maybe Holyfield?

I rank Usyk higher than Roy at HW. So if the bar of greatness is Ali and the lowest is John Ruiz then Usyk would be a mid level champion. Above Roy but Below Holyfield. Thats what I meant.

Personally, I don't really think either will make any major list. Not top 20, anyway.

It's questionable whether either will fight again, as I believe Usyk wants to fight Fury and if not, nobody. And I don't think Fury will fight Usyk, so I think theresba good chance we don't see either of them again. Their current work isn't good enough to be included in a heavyweight top twenty. Usyk may squeeze in the top 25 if his cruiserweight work is allowed, but Fury's wins over an old Wlad and a retard like Wilder aren't getting him that high up. And while I think Joshua gets underrated here, he's not good enough to propell Usyk above a gut like say, Max Schmeling.

Tbh, the division is so poor outside of those two, that I'd say it's not actually possible for either to get top ten outside of possibly beating eachother multiple times and then maybe beating the rest of the top five (which IMO, would mean they have to either beat Joshua/Wilder, and then Joyce).

It's unlikely, but if they do, I'd say either could potentially get top 15.

Both will likely be better head-to-head than based on achievements.

I get what you're saying and in the long run you may be proven right in your last sentence.

For me though, if Fury wins convincingly then he will have beaten the dominant reigning champion from the previous era and the most dangerous puncher from his own, both in their own back yard, and the consensus best guy from his own era. There isn't really much else that could be asked of him, a win over AJ would be nice I guess, purely from a UK perspective, but not all that important. You could argue his resume is thin outside the top guys, but if he has wins over the best of his time then who cares?

For Usyk, just getting a win over a skilled goliath like Fury should seal his greatness imo. That's before you factor in his achievements at cruiser.

I get what you're saying though in terms of where you would place them. The division isn't particularly strong but they're both good enough where a win over the other should count for a lot when it comes to that reckoning imo.

Well neither one is TOP 15-20 ....Fury is closer to it....but beating Usyk really won't move the needle much...

USYK needs to have a few more fight against TOP heavyweight to even start seeing the top 20 pack...

    Absolutely…

And Keeping it a BUCK, Cruiserweight Holyfield WASN’T as Learned or Crafty as Heavyweight Holyfield…

Usyk COULD Beat Holy in a Mythical Cruiser Bout, Conceivably…Can’t Rule it Out…

I'd say in terms of what he did at cruiser, he's clearly number one.

    Holyfield would win though.

Indeed, John Ruiz is not even close to being the worst hw champ ever. In fact, they were easily 10 worst hw champ than him in history and arguably as many as 25.

This is precisely the problem. Even if if there was a Louis/Ali/Marciano today it would be impossible to consider them a top 10 all time great because the division so poor. At best you could guess how they might fair in mythical matchups but even then it's hard as competition still matters.

Yeah moving forward I would rather keep my Roy Jones Jr opinions to myself. The moderator (Explosive) has made it clear to me that I'm walking on thin ice and I'm not looking to get banned.

As far as Fury I feel that he's a little underrated here. Before Fury faced Wilder new media channels the LDBC(Dontae, Ego, Fannon ect) community claimed Fury was ducking Wilder. For a very good reason. For all his flaws Wilder is arguably one of the hardest punchers that ever lived. So Fury's win over the Bronze Bomber was a big deal.

Once Usyk and Fury retire Wilder might take over the hw division. He is the 3rd best hw in the division and can see wilder reigning for years to come.

I don't see it at all. Wilder is already in his mid 30's and coming off 2 ko losses (the last one being quite brutal). Plus, he was always highly flawed and one bad style matchup away from an upset loss. I's be highly shock if he could become once again a dominant champ even if Usyk and Fury retired .
