Fight is this weekend. Not sure if anyone really cares to see these 2 but I'm at least hoping to see a good scrap. Could be a much better than expected fight.

No respect for the Fat and the Furious I see. :Dont:

It'll be like watching Gabriel Iglesias against Laurence Fishburne.

Not interested in seeing it but hopefully there's a highlight reel KO that's worthy of a highlight.

Decent fight, and these are mighty rare at hw when a title isn't on the line (or Chisora isn't involved lol). Though there's a big question mark on how much Ortiz has left. And it s a joke that it's on PPV...

yup…King Kong is a bit old and who knows if fat or in shape Ruiz show up. But it’s still a fight among top 5-6 heavies..

It WILL Be a Fun Fight…

2 Relatively Aggressive Fighters, Nearing the END of the Road, Who Eschew Movement/Distance to Put HANDS Upon Their Opponent…LIVELY Exchanges are Guaranteed and NEITHER Man is Interested in Going the Distance If They Don’t Have To…

The BEAUTY of Boxing Is There’s MORE Than 1 Way to Skin a Cat and/or Win a Fight…

Unfortunately, Some Fans Develop an ELITIST Bent and Lose the Ability to Enjoy a Good “Slobber Knocker” for What It’s Worth…REED Has No Problem Grabbing a Beer, Some Popcorn and APPRECIATING a Ruiz-Ortiz Level Fight, Especially Considering This Bout MOVES the Heavyweight Needle a Bit and the Division Itself Hasn’t Been This INTERESTING Since the Mid-Late 90’s…

And Make NO Mistake, Ruiz and Ortiz Have CONTRIBUTED to the Recent Wave of Heavyweight Interest…w/That Established, There’s No Reason to Think a Head to Head Meeting btwn Them WON’T Be Entertaining…

Granted, REED Ain’t Spending $75 on the PPV, But It’s Still a Fun, Somewhat Meaningful Contemporary Heavyweight Affair…

100% agreed (except that I don't feel hw is at an interesting point right now, it's utter garbage).

I see Fat Andy has gotten into shape a bit so good for him....I'm glad to see it. If Andy goes out and shows something I'll be happy....winner needs another statement fight then a title shot.

another statement fight? Fuk that time is short and quality heavies are few…immediate title shot or fight vs Wilder…

Yes, the Division is LESS Interesting Now Than it Was a Couple Years Ago, Prior to Fury and Usyk FIRMLY Establishing Themselves as the Top 2 Guys, But in the OVERALL Scheme of Things, the Fury/Wilder/Joshua/Usyk/Ruiz/Ortiz ERA of the Division Has Been QUITE Interesting, Undeniably...

Even as Wilder and Joshua Have CRASHED & BURNED So to Speak, a Fight btwn Them Would Do GOOD PPV #"s...It's an INTERESTING Fight that People WILL Watch, for Sure...PBC Missed the Boat on Ruiz-Ortiz; They'd Get OVER a Million Views if the Shit was On FOX, But as a $75 PPV???...Good Luck w/THAT!!!...

Still, Ruiz-Ortiz is an Interesting Fight...

Wilder-Ruiz Would Be Interesting, Joshua-Ortiz Would Be Interesting, Fury-Joshua Will ALWAYS Be Interesting, Usyk-Wilder Would Be Interesting....REED Could Keep Going, But You Get the Point...

The Division Hasn't Been THIS Interesting Since the Mid-Late 90's Tyson/Holyfield/Lewis/Bowe Era...

Both guys are operating off their front foot but in this case I think Ruiz will hang back a little and Ortiz will take centre of the ring. Popping out his jabs to head and body and I actually think he will land a left hand on Andy and get his attention. Andy is going to try to use his movement and get some punches off but I don't think it will be that easy and i think Ortiz will get out to an early lead. Given the fact that Andy is an undisciplined, fat waste of space with no desire, I do not see him trying anything risky. Ortiz might be forcing him to do stuff by beating the crap out of him as I'm not sure he will just settle for a decision win but I think Andy would. If Ortiz does settle into things, Andy will not have the desire or heart to change the fight. So I think if Andy's initial attacks don't work, he is going to hang in there and just get outpointed. I got Ortiz by decision.

Yes things are really "mostly peaceful interesting" today, but I've noticed some of that interest intensifying recently :Jest:

It's interesting like a fire auction.

Dude Ruiz has a 6 pack. Say what you want but the desire and discipline is there for this fight. I do agree that stylistically this is a bad match up for Ruiz. Ortiz has the skills to out box Andy. I dont know who will win so it makes for an intriguing fight. Ill take Ruiz by mid rd Ko.

Cruz looked spectacular. Tank ringside theyre talking about the rematch??? Cruz reminds me of the old school mexican fighters. Tough, quiet warrior. Doesnt talk smack does the talking with his fist.

Ruiz has lost his balls since Ortiz landed a couple of left hands in retaliation in round 2.
