But this is a ball achingly slow fucking ride. I'm still on target for 200lbs on January 1st but I can see myself bouncing around like this on the last week of December...

Thought i might have 10k in me tonight.... But i bitched out at the 7k mark when my laptime dropped broke the 7 minute mark. Prior to that they'd all been 6.xx.

It was getting dark and i figured that the next 3k would be glorified walking pace.



Yesterday, i thought i went out "hard" (by my own standards) and my times were :-

Tonight i felt i went out very very carefully and my times were :-

6.48
6.42
6.41
6.52
6.45

Those arent huge differences but thst final lap on Wednesday, the 6.27, left me jaded.

Tonight, the 6th km, 6.46,i felt fine.

Very odd.... Could be cooler temperatures, better sleep the night before, better glycogen reserves, hydration, confidence, who knows.

Those are huge differences. I think you are underestimating the difference between running 6.15 and 6.45. 6.45 should be jogging pace for someone who is 95 - 100% at 6.15 pace.

What I'll do from now on is continue to run, obviously, doing 5k as my standard.

My target is a sub 30 minute 5k.

Every now and then I'll stick in a 6,7 on a slow for general conditioning.

Unless you say otherwise.

Remember, I'm trying to drop weight in the main, then get fit. I don't want the donkey ahead of the cart all the time here, it just so happens that calorific deficit is easier reached via running,especially when you bear in mind time constraints.
