The problem with the high press is the obvious one - real quality sides will, inevitably, beat it with slick passing and spring right into the gaps behind. The first goal there was a perfect example of that.

The sad truth remains that the Scottish League is now a complete farmers league. Twatting teams by nine is all well and good, but the step up from Dundee Utd to CL level is enormous. I'm not even sure what the answer is any more, but if I were then, I'd be screaming daily to try and get into the EFL.

I'm obviously not a Chelsea supporter & I'm laughing at them too. But all those transfers (especially the late ones) are going to need some time to gel as a team. They're going to look like hammered shit for a couple of more weeks before they get their act together.

More on point than Feebes' assessment to my eyrs. Quality of finishing certainly decided proceedings in the end but ive not seen a Celtic team go toe to toe, system vs system with an elite side like we did in that first half since 2002/03 and that includes winlning efforts over Man Utd, Barca, AC Milan and the 3-3 games vs Man City & Inter. In those games we basically stayed compact, rode our luck a bit and relied on breaks/set pieces/physicality but we looked just as good as them in that first half, bar composure/finishing. Our press, our organisation, our play from the back And we're improving week on week, window on window....Ange stays another year I think we'll beat a side like this.

First half you looked great. I've seen the same thing with NUFC, the style is very similar. NUFC routinely look great, against any opponent, for an hour, but that style is super-hard to maintain for the full ninety unless you are playing an outclassed side or you have the bodies off the bench to maintain the press.

To play that style against elite teams, and win, you need elite players. Shellick have good/very good ones, but they won't attract many elite ones to that awful league. That's not too say it won't work against sides weaker than Madrid. It will.

Give clubs like Shellick and the Hun the kind of money and regular TV profile that Brighton and Palace regularly get in the PL and you have a much better chance of punching your property weight imo.

Honestly mate, id have said the same two years ago but the progress is crazy and every player we add improves affairs. For instance- the new guy hacksobanovic who came on for the last ten already looks an upgrade on Abada and Maeda & in ~6 weeks he'll be bedded into the system in terms of the attacking patterns, pressing triggers etc. I think you saw how well the structure is beginning to work in the first half, its just a case of continuing to gradually upgrade the personell and depth, window on window and Ange's track record in doing that is astonishing so far, despite the financial and other limitations. I always said next year would be the year and im more rather than less convinced after tonight.

I defer to you in this one lad. You know your team more than I do. I simply comment on the bits and pieces I see.

I think the Hun have bigger issues.

Sheltic at least have a high powered offense.

Rangers don't have a proper scorer outside of Morelos, who seems very injury prone.

Rangers get by on grit and a 'hunt in packs" mentality . Morelos was recently dropped, outright, on that very basis ie the wolf pack must have no passengers, nothing to slow them down....Morelos is a cult hero at Rangers and Van Bronkhurst dropped him like a hot potato.

I don't like them, but it's hard to not acknowledge their sheer cussedness and doggedness.

I haven't seen it but they didn't do any worse, really, than Liverpool or City.....hugely impressive to be 0-0 after an hour or so....coming off the Old Firm too at the weekend.

And I will. 200lbs on Jan 1st.....that's the goal.

I'm can do a 6.5km walking pace for 6km or more after an 8 hour shift.....it's amazing how much the fitness comes on before the obvious body changes.

Treating this like prison now. Routine, Routine, Routine, yes sir, quite right sir, your world sir, etc. Like a guy in prison who accepts his station and realizes he can do his time hard or his time easy....cos you're doing porridge either way.

I got up to 242 lbs during the pandemic. My heaviest by far. I started working again in October '21. It's not really a physical job but I am on my feet about 4 hrs of the 10 hr shift. Between that, not lying around snacking and cutting my drinking to once a week (instead of twice a week) I lost 28 lbs by the end of that year.

Or as they say in The Sopranos, "Before, and Way Before"

Stay off of booze.....it's just not good for you, especially mass produced beer full of sulfites.

If drinking produces a "flushing" effect in your neck and face, then get off it, it's linked to cancer.

I hate to preach but some recent familial cancer issues have put me on notice.

I've been told to get a colonoscopy. I said my heads been up there years and I never saw anything wrong.

We're not kids anymore. We just can't get away with shit like we used to.

So they spend a few hundred million on players, wait until the transfer window is closed and then sack the manager?

    Genius.

He almost certainly never signed those players. That's where the rancour started. Then He said last night that "everything is wrong" and that is usually a reference to upstairs.

Now they've seen how well Brighton are doing and have decided they want Potter....like fucking magpies that see a bit of old tin foil...

Some of these owners seem to believe managing a club is just being a motivational speaker. As if it shouldn't matter what players are there. If the team isn't winning and they spent a lot of money assembling it then clearly it's all down to the manager. Even if f you gave them little to no say in that spending it's somehow irrelevant.

The funny things is if all of those signings were ones Tuchel wanted it makes even less sense to sack him so soon. Naturally it takes time for a unit to gel. Also it would mean those players were brought in for specific reasons and a system that manager wanted to implement. Now somebody else has to come in and try assemble somebody's else's unfinished project.

So the two PL managers that have been sacked so far have been sacked immediately after referencing the owners.

Scott Parker goes to the Bournemouth board and tells them he wants to play his style of football but the team doesn't have the players to make it work in the Prem. They tell him "Tough shit. We're not spending any more money. Make due with what you have."

So he lines up the team in his formation against LFC and they get absolutely annihilated 9-0. He tells the owners that's why he can't just make due and they give him his walking papers.
