Sorry to hear that Slice. My missus woke up this morning saying she'd been all night dreaming about her cat which died 6 years prior. Their loss is as impactful as almost any other death.

    Damn Prem....

Oh well. This night just have to be a football-free weekend for me then. World football, anyway. Might catch a few NFL games on Sunday, and Sunday will be the US Open final.

I'll just resume with watching the CL next week.

Sorry bro. Yeah, I was pretty upset when my dog died 10 years ago. It's a natural feeling to have about them.

Shite, mate. I've only ever had one pet. A great big German Shepherd. Lovely dug he was. Died when I was 18. Absolutely heartbroken. Refused to get another pet since. It really is shite. Hope you are okay.

Thanks mate, yeah it's really shite. I'll be OK, gonna see my ma later, the cat lived with my folks and it was closest with her so she's devastated. I think because it came suddenly and out of the blue as well, caught everybody off guard. I don't think they will want another pet only to go through this all again, it really is shit.

Thanks bro, yeah it's awful. One thing I have learned though, having gone through both recently, is that person or animal, grief is a by-product of love. So just make the most of the time you have with them.

I was reading backwards through the thread and expected this to be about a dog. Nonetheless I feel sorry for you because grief is subjective and because as you say, it is a byproduct of love.

It sucks to be a nice person I'll bet, cos you live bigger and love harder and pay a greater price for it in the end.

Theoretically you get those great memories but they fade and all you're able to do is tell yourself you did your absolute best to make life as great for that animal as you could.

All those evenings running about eventually consigned to the dustbin of time. Tears in the rain, like they never happened or were there.

It makes it all seem so fucking pointless, really. Lost in time.Like a giant cosmic joke.

Always felt Roy Batty said it best....

Well said EXCEPT it was The Alan Parson's Project that said it best.

I'll do a 5 k tomorrow, a 4k Tuesday and a 3k Wednesday..... I'll throw in a 6k fast walk every night and hopefully that will see me through till Thursday morning. It's a monotonous racket, this game.

If the funeral is next Monday, then won't the weekend games be canceled also? Looking like the European games will be canceled too. This sucks.

Arsenal-PSV game has been cancelled. Not sure about others yet. Looking at the schedule it's the only European match that is listed as postponed.

I can only presume Feebles died on the GNR or has gone into mourning for the Queen so it remains for me alone to present the forum with great tales of awesome athletic prowess.

Managed to run a 5k in under 30 minutes. That's the good news.

The bad news is that having run a very good 3k, and a totally passable 4th K, I had to work like a dog down the final 200m to come in under the 30 minute mark.

Hard work. Feel great. Milestone achieved.

I'm not deid and I didn't do the GNR yesterday. The missus isn't quite ready for that type of fun yet, so we've deferred it until next year. She could have gotten round, but not in the type of time she wants to run.

Great improvement in your times. You should see pretty sharp and steady improvements for a good while yet.
