Sample A was positive, sample B was negative? Fight goes ahead. Odd to completely ignore that positive sample, if it's true.
Isn't it the same piss that they're testing, though, just poured into two different containers? How can Sample B come back with a different result?
It was a joke of a fight to begin with and has now hit a new level. Very embarrassing, comical and suspicious all round.
I think the fight happens, regardless. Whether it's this Saturday or in four weeks' time. Wayyyy too much money at stake.
If it's tested or stored differently, or more appropriately, if the FIRST sample was tested or stored differently. Storing something longer gives the possible illegal substance more time to break down into its constituents and therefore a better idea of what's in there. If I'm up to the gills in ephedrine, the B comes back same as the A. If I'm up to the gills in Lemsip, the B might show up results the A didn't.
Or flesh out what caused the positive.....real sustained ped use will show across two samples..a wait of a week won't allow it to disappear. But something innocent will be breaking down all the time....that extra week will reveal more if that's the case..
Money. They're plumbing the depths for diminishing returns. You saw how it was with Hatton, you build an audience, a following. That took years. Years. Now you can craft a narrative and max out your income, how, by taking shortcuts, that's how. Problem with this is it takes chances, and this is one of the chances when you're putting in a ten stoner with a middleweight. Little man's on gear to make the event viable. Gets caught. So now they need to spin harder...."oh this adds spice" Its all a sham and mongs lap it up in spades.
Eubanks Jr. should re-negotiate the contract and in light of the positive test make it able for him to weigh-in at the 160 limit
So it's been known for quite some time that Benn was being a naughty boy and the hope was that it wouldn't get leaked. Now that is has come to light and everyone knows, certain measures were put in place to protect all connected. This is quite the blessing for Eddie and all involved because it's added extra spice and controversy and result in it doing a lot better on the PPV front.
Once again, those morons at the BBBofC are thinking way too highly of themselves, taking a laughable stand to uphold ''boxing dignity and interest'' (whatever that means) and pulled a major case of virtue signaling. Not as bad as when they refused to sanction Haye-Chisora because they had a street fight but still a poor look for the sport. At least if they were serious about clearing the sport's off PEDs but we all know Connor will ultimately only get a slap on the wrist.
Lets be honest this fight only mattered in the UK. Not a big loss this fight didnt happen to the rest of the world.
Yeah. I'm not pissed or upset that it's not going ahead. I was never for it in the first place. You've got so many people saying they're feeling so sad that it's off. It's such a dark day for boxing. It was a farce to begin with, even before we found out about Benn.
No doubt it was a sideshow, bordering on the freak show to be honest. Still, this is basically what is driving the sport right now (unfortunately) and at least this one had the possibility of legitimizing a rising contender or cementing an established one (contrary to the Jack Paul and PBF farces, which bring absolutely nothing save irrelevant nonsense).
