Or how about addressing the actual problem? If not we might well all just back the super league.

The problem is Rangers were a spot kick away from qualifying directly via that very tournament....they then ran a gauntlet in qualification....so it's going to require a load of tinkering to weed out teams.

An open draw would be a much better idea. No seeds. Perhaps then an underdog will get a good run in the competition and possibly win it. An open draw will never happen though.

The Champions League is a Super League/Cup. The biggest clubs in the world with the most money are winning it each year (Citeh will eventually win it). It's even harder now for a lesser team to win it. We still have our domestic leagues even if the Champions League was to drastically reduce the number of teams that competes in it. I get that the competition makes smaller teams some much needed money and European nights are special, but so many teams are there just to make up the numbers. The competition is on the cusp of actually increasing in size and it'll still be seeded in a league format. It's really frustrating because you want to see a Leicester City type story in the UCL, but that's never going to happen.

Arguably Liverpool 2005 and Porto 2004 was your Leicester moment....totally no hopers going into it.

    Since then:

    Barcelona
    AC Milan
    Manchester United
    Inter
    Munich
    Real
    Liverpool
    Chelsea

.... To the best of my recollection are the only teams that have won it.

Favourites now, we're wide open on the counter, visible lack of pace & positional nous at the back, really missing CCV. But Sellik have had plenty chances and have a good 30-40% chance of pulling this back. This is a night for Giamoumakis. Get him on early

That big Chelsea boy up front is a level above the other 21 guys on the pitch, break his ankle

Can you see a team other than the usual suspects winning it in the near future?

Aye, better team won. We more or less matched them for 60 minutes then quality showed, really. They've got two or three really first rate players, we fielded two or three who werent even on the B level of the other 17 odd.

With Vickers back and a bit of luck we might beat them at sellik park or we might not

BTW, QPR had a huge win at leaders Sheffield Utd last night. Up to 4th and three points behind 1st. Just really hope we can be more consistent this season and keep our best players on the pitch (Chris Willock picked up an injury...fingers crossed it's not serious). We have a real chance to make the playoffs this season. Five wins from last seven games. Going well.

You figure City will eventually get there. With that talent, it would be EMBARASSING not to win it sometime.

I weighed 218.2lb this morning, so a sharp drop in recent losses.

I put it down to eating a bit more and basically exercising far less.

    No mysteries there eh :Jest:

Diet could have been a lot tighter last week. Basically I got tired and indulged in a few scoops of tiramisu, a few chips, some fried semolina sticks. (Polenta)

I'll tighten that up now. I'll do a minimum of 5 300kcal or 3 500kcal cycles , 3 weights sessions and at least one 5k run between now next weighing day.

I'll also persist with about five 6k walks.

Cottage cheese, fat free yogurt, beetroot and pilchards shall be MOBILISED :Jest:

Hopefully I'll be 215 next week.....

Still on course to hit 200lb by Jan 1st.

Bring in rules for a draft. Set actual spending caps that are ENFORCED.

Fair Play is bullshit. It's a cheats charter, ab accountants plaything.

Everybody gets a £100m spending cap. Use it or lose it.

No more of this Gordon Taylor bullshit about players rights etc.

Do it, or stop whining about a superleague.

Youth set ups are for the best and a draft would destroy that.
A salary cap and budget would definitely help parity but the big clubs (not Tottenham) would fight it.

It was probably meant well, but it has had the opposite effect. It has basically closed the semi-closed shop. Needs binning.

Well on target. You're probably at that point where a lot of the novelty has worn off. This is the hard part. Get through it and you're home free.

And get running again, you lazy cunt lol
