The idea of reducing the number of teams in the CL. what you are proposing is the ESL, in all but name. It just goes the so even more, and removes probably forever the prospect of other clubs challenging the current hegemony.

I've mentioned getting rid of seedings which could improve other clubs' chances of challenging for the trophy more regularly. I'd rather something like that than reducing the number of teams. But it has been ages since a team other than one of the usual suspects has won the competition and it feels like it'll only get worse.

Yep. Novelty has worn right off..I noticed the past 2, 3 weeks even a 4/5 lb loss doesn't carry the excitement. I've noticed that my existence is basically waiting for Thursday to roll around so I can stand on the scales, enjoy a brief moment of victory that quickly evaporates once I start noting how little of the loss was fat, pull a Bolognese out the freezer and indulge myself.

The effort is basically 6 days and 20 hours out of 7 days.

The problem is I've taken an evening shift job and I walk for an hour afterwards. That means, as is the case right now, I'm still wired by midnight even though I've done a 6k walk and weights earlier. So I sleep on till about 10 and then I have the books so I don't have that drive to go and run like before in July, August....but I know I'll have to find it again.

Right now I'm getting by on walks, weights, airbike and a few weights, all mated to a CICO regimen with 1 day of normal eating.

My upper body is tight and thighs and calves likewise. This makes my midriff look like it came off somebody else's body. This is usual, I know that's last, but every week I can see leaner tissue, definition and cuts on the delts, traps, pecs and arms but it's like all the fat just migrated downstairs :Jest:

It's become a fixation. It looked better before because there was no contrast but now the upper is tightening , the contrast is clearer..

So I need to regroup again....

You could have the the old system of two group stages eg you go into a group of shit if you're say ... Celtic.

    Celtic
    Bruges
    Shaktar
    Maccabi

    ....for example.

    Then...

    City
    Real
    Barcelona
    Bayern

Top 2 from each group come out into a new group

    Celtic
    City
    Bayern
    Bruges

Here's the rub.....they start this new group with the same points and goal difference they finished the last group with

It's the only thing I can think of....that, or some golf handicapping or something .

Or two group stages whereby it's all ranked like City must finish with 24 points from 12 games to qualify but Celtic need only 18 from 12 etc.

If you spend £50m in the Summer transfer, you need 20 points from 36 (12 games)

If you spend £150 over the preceding 2 seasons, you need 24 from 36

    Etc etc

And it's gross spend, not nett.

Sellik absolutely labouring again. The emotional come-down from these European games is as big as the tiredness. From a packed bundesliga stadium to empty seats in Perth. Even the sellik crowd is struggling to get into it and that never happens.

Intrigued to see what happens between Arsenal and Liverpool later. Liverpool have to win otherwise they're surely out of the title race. Trent was the hero during the week but he's got his work cut out today. Won't be surprised if he's booked and his defensive flaws are highlighted once again.

Liverpool has easily owned Arsenal for the past 4-5 seasons. I'd be happy with a result today tbh. I do think we can win since we are at home but it will take a lot.

It's nice to see Arsenal back up there again, even though I don't think they can last the course. Nothing against Liverpool whatsoever but they're already out of the race imo, which is crazy to say this early in the season but this City side set ridiculous standards. I just want to see someone give them a bit of a run for their money this year. Liverpool will be back strong next season.

Good first half. Very entertaining. Liverpool looked more likely to get a second and then Arsenal go and score very late in the half.

I thought Citeh lost one of their early games for some reason but grabbed a look at the table i see that is not so. Maybe i was thinking about the Community Shield.

They do indeed look ridiculous. Only hope seems to be if they gain a big lead and get complacent or suffer a spate of injuries. I don't think Guardiola would let them get lazy and they're so deep even with some injuries they can probably handle it.

Great game. I'll admit it was a soft penalty but a chippy game all the way through. Both teams played well. Glad we stole one. It's been too long. I love the effort of our squad. Over 100 minutes of pressing.

Yeah, there was an intensity about Arsenal today. Liverpool did have moments in the game where they were on top, but you always felt Arsenal had more to offer.

Shellick aren't very good at this level. Sorry Hoot, I'm cheering them on as I watch, but this is the fifth or sixth time I've seen them this season and the lack of quality is striking.

Yeah, class really showing, now. Shellick and Rangers a few years away from being able to compete at this level, as far as I can see.

There is just a real lack of quality. Lots of effort, some busy players, good shape and a clear identity in how they play, but the step-up is too much at this stage for that collection of players.

I already discussed them a few weeks ago. Big transitional period for Klopp. Teams have worked you out and the players have declined over time. It happens. Fergie's greatness was his ruthlessness. He knew when a team was past its peak and he had no scruples about ripping it up and building a new one. Klopp is there now. It'll be interesting to see if he can do what needs done or whether he continues to just throw shade around.

Eat some food then. I've cautioned you about starving yourself to 'make weight'. It's a bad strategy, short and long term.

    I am.

Broke a quality frozen bolognese into 3 pieces defrosted them, ate them over the duration of the day , one tin pilchards, small, about 200g cottage cheese, 1 jar beetroot, large.(all of it)...several coffees..one YAWKSHYAH tea cos I needed it....it got cool here today....

....I had a corn on my foot so I just stick to my walks, 8k last night after work, 12k the night before that. Limited physical today to housekeeping and windowashing, ladders are good, works the balance etc.

Got the corn pads so I'm righting that. Genuinely want to get back into the running as I'm about 20lb lighter than when I last ran and want to see the times, how it feels.

There's no starvation I can assure you it's all good grub.
