He's a fantastic talent, always has been, but I can't stand the guy. The ego is too much and he will have an overall negative effect on the side, better off shot of him I'd say.

And even in his current club he’s a cancer in the dressing room. I was so happy when he left Barca.

Agreed, he's a fucken diva, although Barca's "ego", sense of entitlement or whatever you want to call it during his transfer saga was exposed. They just couldn't accept that somebody would pay out his release clause and woo a player away. You see, that's what they're using to doing. When it happened to them it was a state of shock like a bully getting hit back. "unfair, wah!"

I'm headed to Las Vegas for my 50th this weekend. It's going to be beer & sports bets all weekend among other things.

Hi....well I'm glad to hear R is still cracking on....is she still trying to lose fat or just tune up now?

I had a glass of red wine last night to help me sleep. Brian Clough said it's good for you and he would know. Sleep is a big thing it's 2am.im still up....!! But I believe if I get 8 hrs I'll be alright. I actually flag a bit if I'm up very early.

I'd love to try Keto but I'm a coffee and milk man myself....I know I'd have just enough carbs to never be in Keto and just too few carbs to be perfectly miserable. So I've never really given it a go, never really gave it a chance.

Today, I went back the running and boy was I shocked. A caveat....I did 300kcal on the bike in 26 minutes at 3pm, that's hard going. Then 7 hours on my feet..then I walked to my place of running. Got there about 11pm. Pitch black, grass was longer and really wet.

Excuses aside I then ran the worst 5k I've run in ages....not a single km under 6m albeit 3 were close..all were well under 7.

20lbs ago, in the heat,I was running better times..

Again, there were factors at work here but I did expect to be faster. My last few 5ks were targeted events, I knew I was doing them, I'd rest up, hydrate specifically, etc.

It seems you get better at running by,well, running. Not just by losing weight. It seems - at this level- 20lbs of weight loss is no substitute for constant running. You lose conditioning, body becomes unused to the motions etc.

Anyways, that 5k was 500 kcal allegedly. I would add I didn't feel tired after it..I felt decent. I normally used to be really tired.

Went home, walked the dog for 3km or a bit more..so well over 1000kcal expended via exercise.

Then I took 2l of milk that was verging to go off and made "cottage cheese"....basically you boil the milk and fire in citric acid and strain it.

I will not be doing it again. It's edible but not cost effective. Saucepan needs washing. Tablecloth is wet..sieve is dirty..milk cost £2 so nah...

I'll run again tomorrow night..I'll run 5km every night now, the times be damned, until next Thursday, just to see what the effects are.

I'll try a weights session tomorrow. I've got dumbbells, 30kg each, I usually do shoulder press on my knees, good form, reps to failure, 5 sets. Then I'll do chest presses (stand in front of a mirror and "basketball pass" ) with a big heavy disc about 15 kg. Do that to failure, 3 sets.

Then I'll do a few bridges.

I took it easy last week. Too easy....so I'll crack on now.. I'm dead proud I ran a 5k in the dark after work it's something I've been daring myself to do. As I ran laps I could hear chestnuts falling from trees and my headlight was catching little blue and orange eyes peering at me from the undergrowth.....eerie.

I heard his father did a Bernie Kosar on it and took all sorts of bribes and money to guarantee he signed. Whole thing was rotten from the beginning.

She wasn't that old. Well, she was old but younger than me.

Two nights later some girl in Liverpool tried to make a move. She grabbed my hand and took me to some side room. Bought me a shot of something which I dumped on the floor when she looked away. When she turned her back for a moment I speedwalked to the exit and then broke into a light jog until I was out of the Cavern Quarter. I went to a pub near St. George's Square where I witnessed a horror show but that's a story for later.

Now this girl may have had good intentions but I was still paranoid as hell over what had happened.

I told you before. The best way to improve your running is to run. If you run thrice a week, you get better. If you run twice a week, you maintain your level. Any less and you get worse.

Less weight helps, but only if you are actually training. No training, no improvements.

    I agree . I was taken aback.

I wasn't being lazy. Just a question of organization and planning.

That said there's no soreness or tiredness today....

Anyways I'll just keep doing it now.

I'll go again tonight, weather permitting ( I won't run in rain)

@whiskey made a good point about Barca’s ARROGANCE during this time. Yes, it was during the time of Barca Mania if you will, and they felt at time that everyone wanted to go there, and it was always clear that they went to low depths to lure him and his crooked father to them. And its now KARMA basically coming back on the club.

Just wish others at the club would have foreseen something.

I remember it well. It started in 2006 when they won it and by 2011 it was fully fledged....rampant if you will, after they'd done Man United in two finals ....2009 and 2011. They had another surge around 2016.

Back then there was huge ass kissing going on.

Well I did another 5k tonight. 28 seconds slower than Thursday. But I did it. Under the misty moonlight too.

Sat downstairs now I can hear the dogs snoring and the shipping news on BBC RADIO 4.

I wonder what's happening out around Fishers German Bight.

I didn't know about that shipping news thing (I can't remember the real name for it.) Apparently it's one of the things British people miss the most when they're away from the UK. They say it's relaxing and a reminder of home.

Hut's favorite band, Blur wrote a song about it. They're known to be very pro-England and don't enjoy touring outside of England.

Talk about a nightmare. I am beyond terrified of snakes. The desert outside if Vegas has Copperheads & Rattlesnakes.

I was thinking about moving to Northern Nevada at one point until I heard about all the rattlesnakes up there.

Fun fact. The people in northwest Nevada (mostly desert towns & Indian reservations) consume more alcohol pound for pound than any other section of the US. A distant second is the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area where many beers are made.

Blur have got fans in 3 places:-

    The UK .
    Ireland
    Japan.

    In other words, no fans.

Can't believe there was ever a time I thought they were ever good.

The Shipping News plays after "Sailing Away" which is a mildly saccharine piece of relaxing folk classical music but before the National Anthem which concludes the broadcast for the day in question. The programming then shifts to BBC correspondents in places like Singapore etc.

That trifecta, Sailing Away, the Shipping News and the Anthem is and has been a signature of broadcasting in Britain since decades. There was a time people would sit around their wireless and take stock of it all.

I should imagine a vanishingly small percentage of the population today even knows of its existence much less listens to it.

I don't like snakes either. There's only one thing I like less than snakes, and that's snakes on a plane. Only one thing I like less than that is movies about snakes on a plane. And there's only one thing I like less than that, it's that motherfucking Denzel Washington guy from that Snakes on a Plane movie, you know, where he gets drunk and brings a guy on to train him how to fly.

I heard Kate Beckingsale talking about it on a US talk show and how Brits miss it when they're gone. She's got to be close to 60 & Blur are in their 50s.

Blur's music slowly grows on me more than any other band's. I like their two huge LPs, Park Life & The Great Escape. I absolutely hated both my first listen through.

They both seemed to progress like this:

What a pile of shit. How can these jokers be compared to Oasis/ Oh that's a good tune. How did I miss that first time through?/ Alright, they have a few good songs on here. I was wrong/ About half this album is actually pretty good/ Fuck, this albums's a masterpiece . What was I thinking?

I imagine if I listened to more of their albums, they would have the same effect.

Good. I was thinking about Carson City. A patient at my work used to live there and warned me about the rattlesnakes. I googled and found an article in their local rag telling people how to keep their dogs safe from rattlesnakes. I put that idea in the review mirror.

There are two counties in between Vegas & Carson City/Reno area.

Lots of land and ridiculously low population. Check those out when you get a chance. It's unreal.

Northern Nevada has some stretches like that and Utah has some massive stretches of absolutely nothing.

I hear about that from the US politics shows I listen to....I had no idea Arizona was the place to be at these days and Colorado, formerly a place where desperadoes holed up is now a bastion of cool ski sorts.

Nevada was basically fucked until they brought in gambling..
