Nice one, appreciate the review (genuinely, I've recently realised how sarcastic I can come across via text these days, unwittingly :Jest:). So would you say as long as I'm not kicking or doing anything I shouldn't be doing with it, it'll hold up?

Zero resistance either, you're talking Klitschko-Byrd on a semi-regular basis. Ouch.

Whenever I've played racket sports I've just worn my football astro boots  but it is a good idea to invest in proper footwear according to the sport you're playing.

Not a problem....my trainers come apart because I've got wide feet and kick through the big toe. Also when I'm inactive I've got this bad habit of flexing my feet up and pushing the toe into the roof of the trainer.

I can literally show you 3 pairs of trainers in my room with a hole in the top left of the right shoe :Jest:

Leather or synthetic leather trainers hold up well compared to the mesh variety, that's my experience.

The downside is an initial trade off in comfort as they're stiff as boards. But they last longer and grip the foot harder and generally have much better grips.

The outdoor "runners" don't use that grips method as it fills with mud and they're all about gel or air or bounce etc. They have a moulded sole that's all about weight saving etc.

Tennis and squash isn't quite running in terms of impact and the need for suspension ⬇️it's like shuffling or little sprints, rapid stepping etc, you lunge and that foot needs to grip when it comes down....so all those gel or air options go out the window for me.

Footwear makes a huge difference, there's a reason boxers don't wear Nike's in a fight. I've never once seen it. It's all leather bootees with hard rubber soles.

Everybody I've ever seen on the street who was an obvious ",runner", no arms, 5% body fat, no ass etc all wore those classic Asics running shoes. Never seen them with the harder indoor shoe.

I used to think it was all marketing bullshit. But it's not.

The Padel Pros are usually cheap too -£50 or so mark.

Its remarkable how all clubs in crisis ha e so many familiarities. On and off the field.

Its the inverse of what Tolstoy said in Anna Karenina about how unhappy families are all unhappy in their own way.

When Liverpool went into crisis in 2010,they displayed identical characteristics.... No imaginative play, no confidence, dour style, couldn't hold a lead. Same with United last year. Same with Arsenal at the end of Wenger etc.

I think Xavi is trying to mold these guys into what Barcelona/Spain national team were during that 2007-2012 period and the players are not THOSE type of players.

Also, Busquets and Pique need to go. Ferran Torres was supposed to be the new David Villa but though he’s fast, he’s nowhere near the caliber of El Guaje nor would i have paid 60 million for him.

Its also apparent that with the departure of Messi, there isn’t that spark in the attack to bring in all the other elements (strikers, midfielders, wing backs, and even center backs) into the final third and create those shots on goal.

Not even Pep imo could bring this side to play that style at THAT level of Spain’s golden years. Barca may possibly win La Liga but they wont get close to a CL for some time to come.

What a stressful day of football. Arsenal survived two VAR bullshit calls. Hell of a tight angle goal by Saka to win it. Leeds dominated us the entire second half, probably deserved a result.

Then you have Mo Salah missing one on ones with the goal keeper and Nunez being greedy and stupid. Thankfully Mo scored the difference.

Thank you Liverpool. All teams have lost and Arsenal's Invincible record will be intact for another season regardless.

Nice win for Liverpool but it's Arsenal that benefitted most.

Liverpool in great form right now. If they keep this form up, I see them finishing no less than 2nd.

I missed the Manchester Not City Vs Newcastle United result at the weekend, hard to say who that was a better result for, Not City or Newcastle United.

I think the top race is going to be so hard this year. There's genuinely 6,7 teams looking for those slots.

Had the chance to take the dog for a walk today because she was pining for a game of football after months of not having one. Met a dog walker who frequents my area who said she didn't recognise me from a distance. Great feeling that.

I celebrated with several tins of pilchards :Jest:

Just kidding. I'll fuck off out again tonight for another 5k.

Mason Greenwood remanded in custody after being charged with attempted rape. Safe to say his footballing career at United is over.

Great player, great goal and absolutely horrid horrid style of TV where they get in people who weren't there, didn't see it and don't care but act like it's been on their mind for years, that you've never heard of it and that they're the very person you need to hear about it from...

That's par for the course in all sports nowadays. The style of TV you're describing.
