If you don’t have any idea how good he is why are you claiming it’s dramatic to call him the greatest prospect of all time? To answer your question he’s very good but it’s also based on the fact he’s 7’4” and plays like a guard. So yeah that doesn’t totally sound like hyperbole when calling him a greater prospect than Shaq and Lebron. It’s all based on potential and this kid’s potential seems even higher than theirs.
Naw ham is stuck with dead weight. They'll give him a chance to stick around until they deal westruck Wembanyama looks like a 7'5 guy who can protect the rim better than gobert and has the movement/offensive skills of Durant
Only if she’s an idiot or wanting to protect the GM. This is clearly a roster issue not a coaching issue. If anyone needs to get fired it should be Jeanie and Pilenka.
I've been following basketball since guys like Harold Miner and OJ Mayo were being called the next Jordan, so forgive any fucking skepticism. Wenbanyama is good and tall but he has the frame of a Chet Holmgren and you see what happened to him before he even played his first game. People need to calm down. They are even broadcasting his French League games to cash in on the hype.
People might need to calm down, then again they’re probably correct in how they rate him. You think there weren’t old heads saying the same thing about Lebron that you’re saying now? Somebody has to be the next great prospect, why not this guy? Time will tell.
Correct in rating him as the best prospect of all time? He's not. You could see the physical tools with Shaq and Lecon. This guy is a Durant wannabe at best.
I might be mistaken but I don’t think Shaq was that big of a prospect the same way Lebron and this kid is. In all honesty I believe a bigger deal was made about Tim Duncan coming out than Shaq. Lebron was considered a big prospect but so too is this kid. Being 7’ 5” isn’t a physical tool? This isn’t the NFL, in basketball height and length is more desirable than girth and muscle. Also, what physical tools was Lebron sporting? He was a fairly skinny kid coming out of high school and didn’t gain the muscular physique that later became his calling card til years later. Lebron was a big prospect because of his skills, this kid is a big prospect because of his skills and physical gifts. You’re right that this kid is closer to Durant but the fact he can do that and move like a guard at 7’ 5” with the length that comes with that and the fact he already appears to be putting it all together into a nearly complete package is exactly what makes him arguably the greatest prospect of all time. Nothing like this kid has every graced the NBA. Kareem, Wilt and Russell didn’t move or play like a guard the way this kid can.
He's a can't miss prospect and will be a dominant force. Only issue is health concerns for a kid that height
That's the RUB Though; Practically Every Freakishly Tall Player w/Freakish Skill/Athleticism Has Wound Up CHRONICALLY Injured... Ralph Sampson, Shawn Bradley, Kristaps Porzingis...Toooo Early to Say Chet Holmgren is CHRONICALLY Injured, But His 1st Setback Being a FOOT Injury Certainly Doesn't Bode Well... REED's Rooting for Wembenyama, But the Track Record of 7'3-7'4 (or Taller) MuhFuggas w/Guard/Small Forward Skills/Mobility HASN'T Been a Good One, to Say the Least... He'll Undoubtedly Be the # 1 Overall Pick, But Best Believe Whoever Drafts Wembenyama Will BUBBLE WRAP His Ass Until the Season Starts...No Summer League Play, No Summer Pro-Am Play, No Charity Games, NATHAN... REED
A PREMATURE Selection for Sure... AD was a Certified DOG His 1 Year @ Kentucky and His Early New Orleans Days, But THAT AD Hasn't Seen the Light of Day in a Laker Uniform, Despite Their Championship... There's No Question AD's the Softest CURRENT Player, but it's Now to a Point Dude Might Be The Softest Player EVER!!!....After Missing the Final Pre-Season Game w/"Back Tightness" & Looking @ LA's Early Schedule, REED Told Some Group Chat Homey's AD WOULD Sit Out Prior to Game 7... Motherfucker DIDN'T Even Make it to Game 5... REED
COULD Be the Best Prospect Ever But Definitely ISN'T the Best Prospect Ever, as REED Types... For Better or Worse, Part of That Debate Is Contingent Upon WHAT the Prospect Does as a Pro... For a Time, Even Ben Simmons was Considered the "Best Prospect Since LeBron", But Zion Took That Mantle from Ben...Now, Zion Needs to Find HEALTH, To Keep Himself in the "Best Prospects Ever" Discussion... Honestly, "Best Prospect EVER" Is a 2-Horse Race in REED's Opinion; LeBron and Lew Alcindor...They Both Had INSANE Levels of High School Hype, Yet EXCEEDED All Expectations as Pro's... REED
What Sucks is AD Seems EASY Enough to Get Along w/, NOT a Troublemaker/Overt Attention Seeker, etc... Yet He's @ a Point Where He's Patently UNLIKABLE As a Basketball Player Due SOLELY to His Injury History...As REED's Stated in the Past, Very FEW of AD's Injuries Have Been Truly STRUCTURAL In Nature; His Clear Issue is PAIN TOLERANCE.. "Back Tightness"...Yes, AD Took a HARD Ass Fall From About 6ft in the Air, In His Last Game, But "Back Tightness" Bruh??!!...And Your Team is WINLESS??!!... REED
He was fools gold in New Orleans, gets bubble championship and is top 75? Joe Dumars isn’t top 75 but Mr Glass is?
I think AD’s inclusion was similar to the Shaq pick during the original selection of 50 greatest players in 96. Shaq had just come into the league that same year and was given a selection based not only on his numbers that season but also the likelihood of him eventually achieving greatness. The gamble payed off in Shaq’s case but was a bad play in AD’s. The bigger issue though, was that AD was farther enough along in his career that it was looking more and more questionable whether he would actually reach that milestone. There should have been some pullback to putting him on that list. His injury history, lack of fire and aggression and the fact he never really came close to being an MVP candidate should have all been the writing on the wall to not have him on that list. So yeah, I think the expectation of him eventually getting there is likely the real reason he was included on that list rather than the voters actually feeling he was more deserving of guys like Mcgrady, Carter or Howard.
Seriously hope that is a joke. That said I just listened to 1st Take where Stephen A Smith estimated that all of Kyrie’s antics over the years have recently cost him as much as 330 million dollars. That is mostly based on the recent 200+ million dollar contract he failed to net prior to having to opt in to his final year and the likelihood Nike isn’t going to reup with him on a new shoe contract. I compared Kyrie to Kanye about a year ago and it looks even more spot on today. Both guys recently used antisemitism to absolutely destroy their own net worth, due to ego and narcissism, both guys chose to double down rather than apologize when given opportunities to do so, both guys think they’re smarter than they actually are to a huge degree and most of all both guys are 10/10 in the annoyance factor.
