Holy smokes Reed. Shut the front door...you promoted Charlo? I dont often say this but damn that's impressive. Can ask him when he's gonna fight Benevidez? Man I wanna see that fight. I remember Carlos Williams(had the cornrows goin on). He came from the same olympic team as Rocky Juarez, Jeff Lacy and Panchito Bojado right?. Good shit bro. Thats an impressive resume.

    Vin Scully?

    He was a baseball commentator.

I think the fighter was John Scully.

He posted a video of him seeing Pernell Whitaker drinking in a bar. As luck would have it, one of Whitaker's Olympic teammates (Robert Shannon) was also in the bar. Whitaker was fucking wasted and barely remembered the guy.

Bojado wasn't on the US team. I believe he represented Mexico.

    No, No, No Bruh:duck:...

Matchmaking & Promoting are DIFFERENT Roles...COMPLETELY...It Takes MONEY to Promote, Which REED Ain't Got Like THAT!!!...Promoters HIRE Matchmakers to Put Their Fights Together...

REED Was HIRED By People w/Fairly Deeeeeeeep Pockets (Back Then, @ Least) to Handle Shows & Yes, REED's Had Access to Some Decent Names in a Matchmaker's Capacity...

But Make NO Mistake, Promoting and Matchmaking are Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay DIFFERENT....

    John Scully filming and talking.

At the end Pernell finally remembers him and says "You were the only one that didn't get a gold medal."

Actually, he's the only one that didn't medal. Virgil Hill (165) lost in the finals and got a silver. Evander Holyfield (178) was unjustly DQ'd
in the semis and got a bronze.

The US did win nine gold medals in '84.

    (106) Paul Gonzales
    (112) Steve McCrory
    (125) Meldrick Taylor
    (132) Pernell Whitaker
    (139) Jerry Page
    (147) Mark Breland
    (156) Frank Tate
    (201) Henry Tillman
    (Super Hwt) Tyrrell Biggs

Shannon fought at 119 and lost his first match.
