not to take away from bivol.. .he looked amazing. but zurdos performance came across as a complete non-effort.
I met him in San diego at a cigar lounge when Roman gonzalez fought martinez. He was already back from the accident by then and it was in March. Sounded normal announcing that fight Tho his normal speaking voice is that of a new Yorker from the hood Cool motherfucker
Morrells derrecha is nasty One of the top young talents in boxing This guy's face is getting destroyed
Morrell is definitely one of boxing brightest young gun. 168lbs is starting to get really really interesting and might be boxing's best division along with lw
wouldn't mind seeing this uerbo guy against some of the other top guys i dont think most guys wouldve survived this long
Ever since he broke that idiot/ big mouth Macia's neck I've been a fan of Morrell. He is the real deal.
Great performance by Bivol who shows once again why he’s an elite level fighter. The guy is so smooth and his ring IQ, defense, footwork, and sharp punches are on point. Zurdo couldn’t do much against Bivol. If there’s one knock on Bivol it’s his killer instinct. Just like with Haney and Shakur Bivol is mainly a pure boxer who seems more intent on just doing more than enough to go the distance rather than finish the fight even when his opponent is there for the taking. Hope we can finally see Bivol in the ring against Beterbiev early next year. It’s now or never.
In fairness to Bivol, he was more aggressive than normal.....throwing more 3-4 punch combos than usual and more willing to press the issue. of course, it was clear Zurdo wasn't an overly competent counterpuncher which hasn't been the case for all his opponents. also recall joe smith did manage to hurt him.
To Zurdos credit he did show toughness. It was crazy to see Bivol actually pressing the fight and making Zurdo back up. Bivol isn’t just a great mover but also a good pressure fighter. Another reason why he’s a brilliant boxer.
Bivol would school Canelo even worse if they were to fight again. He looked even more impressive against a bigger guy like Zurdo. Canelo would be wise to not take that rematch.
I saw Bivol a lot as an amateur. Imo he has always been pretty unique in the sense that he is very difficult to categorize, as he can pressure and box equally well. Such guy is damn difficult to beat
And why should he? He is a (super)middle who found his limit. Duran never pursued for a rematch with Hearns either but that doesn't mean much
A Duran-Hearns rematch was never discussed, so outside of your Duran hate, why is it even relevant? The prospect of Canelo-Bivol II has been talked about.
Yerbo is in a coma and the prognostic doesn't look good from what I read. The way he wasn't able to stand up at the end was worrisome and unfortunately, It wasn't a false alarm.
