Well, the discussion was about canelo and jones being cherrypickers. Their performance against their respective opponent is irrelevent here. Both were willing to fight the top fighter (or close) in the world at the moment, but only one had the abilities to prevail. It makes RJ a better fighter than canelo, but not less/more of a cherrypicker than canelo

You know Pacquio is the King of weight clauses and most serious boxing experts rank him higher than RJJ in an all time P4P list

Why is this even a debate????

Crapnelo needs more things stacked in his favor than any other star in history.

The judges have to be bought off. The weight has to be on his terms.

The freckle faced bitch knows MONTHS in advanced who he's gonna choose to fight, and can prepare in advance, then his opponents only have weeks to prepare in some cases.

Only the two resident Roy haters on this forum would compare them.

At the time of the fight Toney was P4P number 1 and Roy was number 2. Still the only time 1 vs 2 has ever happened to my knowledge.

I dont remember that but I know in a p4p all time list JT is not ranked that high. I dont put a lot of weight on the p4p list unless its an all time list. Top 50. Not the flavor of the month shit. A year and a half ago Lomachenko was ranked in the top 3 p4p list lol.

i'm not comparing who is a better fighter. i'm comparing their penchant for cherry-picking. and on that basis, they are indeed comparable.

11 year olds won't knock out any adult men. They typically weigh like 80 LBS lol.

Roy Jones was definitely a hard hitter, just moved up in weight and bigger people can take the punishment better. He was no Beterbiev, but he wasn't exactly Meldrick Taylor either.

But we are talking about just power.

Pacquiao had insane speed and decent power. Other than Hatton he didn't drop or even really hurt MAB, Erik Morales, DLH, or Cotto except with barrage of punches and 20 blind shots a piece.

Roy hurt alot of guys with reputable chins with one shot. Even put a few away.

I have a theory....you take the biggest toughest guy pacquio beat and compare it to the biggest guy Roy fought and you compare the two fights. Who was able to really Hurt and beat up his opponent.

Pacquio vs Margarito compared to Roy vs Ruiz who was more impressive? Be objective.

He hit him with huge power punches for several rounds until he actually rocked him with a blind uppercut right on the money.

My point is Pacquiao did not have concussive power, more of a volume and awkward angle guy.

I dont think youre taking into account several factors. Manny started his career at 115. So he was naturally a much smaller guy than Cotto who is a legit Welter and was a champ at 160. The second thing you may not be considering is that Cotto has a great Chin. He went 12 rds with Canelo and was never even dropped. The fact that Manny a former Fly weight was able to drop Cotto is a HUGE sign that he has concussive power.

I don't know, I saw your post in a different thread saying Andy Ruiz would beat Muhammad Ali.

Regardless you make a solid point, I'm speaking of second hand experience knowing several of Pacquiaos sparring partners over the years who pretty much all insist that he is very fast and not a very hard puncher.

That seems to also gel with my eye test. Good power, but not flatten you power. That's my only real point here. Roy Jones was a harder puncher weight for weight than Manny Pacquiao.

What about him? He didn't have the power to be included among this group.
