Just watching some ass on ESPN regarding the Croatia-Brazil match. Starts off by saying he was surprised and it's "not to downgrade anything Croatia has accomplished".

Then goes on to call Brazil "the deepest team of the tournament" and for them to lose when up 1-0 is "inexcusable". "Brazil did a choke job, they lost the game, it wasn't Croatia who came back and won it".

But not to take anything away from Croatia ...

 

Brazil are the Man U of international football. Yeah, they used to be good, really fucking good, but you're not that team any more. Get over it.

I dunno, it was penalties. The Euro 2000 semi between Italy and the Netherlands is legit one of the most one-sided matches I've ever watched. The Dutch absolutely battered them for 120 minutes but lost on penalties. I'm not saying this was the same, Croatia were much more competitive, just more that is a penalty shoot out really a definitive way to settle a match? Imo no, but I still love to watch them so I'm just typing rambling shit here now. Good luck to 'em.

 

I remember, that match and yes it's not the same. This isn't just about penalties though. If Croatia won by any score-line it would be the same response. Unfavored side didn't win, favored side lost. HOW COULD THAT HAPPPEN!? Let's examine all the things the favored side did wrong and gloss over what the team who actually won the match did.
