Pele's goal against Mexico in 62 when he goes through damn near half the squad to blast it in is one of the best goals I've seen.

An incredible footballer. If he isn't the GOAT, it isn't by much. A magnificent player.

That Carlos Alberto goal in 1970. Fucking timeless - imagine doing something like that, in a final, against Italy FFS.

One thing I will agree on, with all and sundry, is that Bruce, Phil Brown (remember him?) Curbishley, Alan Pardew,Paul Ince etc were/are just useless fucking chancers. I don't think Allardyce or Redknapp were much better.

Mark Hughes, Tony "Honest Bunch of Lads" Pulis etc all fucking chancers to one extent or another.

Hughes, we were told, was hard done by at City but he's at BRADFORD now. Fucking Bradford.

Bruce, Brown, Pardew, Allardyce, Hughes, Curbishley WERE all on the same level. Absolute shite, the lot of them, all on the same merry-go-round of managers getting high-ish profile jobs in the Prem purely because they were on that merry-go-round. I don't include Redknapp in that group, not because I like him, I can't stand the cunt, but he was a bit more ambitious and aimed a little higher than the rest. He did actually win a major trophy (bankrupted the club in doing so, it has to be said), which sets him apart a little bit from the rest. Absolute shocking state of affairs when that cunt is considered one of the better English managers in the past 20 years. I hope Howe wins something with Newcastle because he's a much better coach and one billion times better a human being.

It really was a merry go around. And it's not new. It "tried to be happened" in Ireland when it was basically just decided, like that, that Terry Venables would have the Irish job after Steve Staunton. (Who himself hasn't done shit since) ....simply because certain people in the papers decided he could have it and should have it...having just been SLUNG OUT of the England setup following the Croatia debacle at Wembley and the preceding 3-5-2/Paul Robinson Divot Disaster etc

Dunphy sets it out:- "fired last Wednesday at half past eight," and suddenly a shoo-in fir the Ireland job days later....., because he's El Tel and he's got the "cridenshuls" etc

That "Rant" by Dunphy was probably the beginning of what little education I've got about how narratives are formed and managed and how things get "taken care of".

Dunphy laid it out in clear structured form. Point by point. There was no justification for the appointment-by-osmosis of a guy who literally had just been fired for being part of the "worst performing England team in a decade"

How the fuck is Chelsea able to spend 500 million pounds in one calendar year? They are buying Fernandez for 127 million. Shit stain of a club.

Weren't they transfer embargoed for a year or two? I suspect that allowed them to build up a sizeable FFP pot. Looks like they are blasting it all in one go, along with their allowance for the next year or so.

Haven't seen any of the highlights today, only looked at the scoresheet.

Liverpool won 2-1 with two OG's and both by the same player. Is that right?

Not sure how rare it is for a player to have 2, but for those to be the only 2 of the match. That's extra rare, no?

The squad was on a mission to go 7 points clear.

City draws. Spurs losing to Villa. But Arsenal keeps on rolling. Winning the league is looking very possible for them.

Here's to hoping Sheltic crush the huns tomorrow. I'll have to wait probably 5-7 days until the U.S. shows it.

Arsenal would have to have a major collapse for City to catch them. It’s not looking likely as the weeks go by.

Really weird season but that makes it more unpredictable and intriguing as opposed to La Liga which has been a total dud this year. Even the top two clubs there just don’t have that level of quality that you could imagine winning a CL.

Yeah, LaLiga seems pretty boring right now. I've watched a few games here n there, but not many.

It's looking good but it's not even half way through the season. Arsenal haven't suffered any kind of "slump" yet which is inevitable over a long period.

Not really. It's only a 7 point lead with 22 matches to go. No collapse needed, just a couple of off days and City are level.
