I still believe Eubank has future in the sport left. He is getting up in age but he has a couple of good years left, and he has looked pretty good in his latest outings.

He was too inexperienced against Groves and Saunders, but with Roy helping him he might still become a titlist

 

No, he simply wasn't good enough to beat them.

 

At that point he wasn't, now he might be. Fighters can develop tactically

 

I think Eubank is actually pretty good and capable up to a certain level. He is tough and comes to fight which is enough these days to compete against the "best of the rest". He also has a bit of a mean streak which I like to see. He will batter Smith who I've never really thought much of tbh.

 

Eubanks and Benn are the perfect fighters for this era of coddled phonies.

 

But since boxing evolution works backwards, all they have to do is to wait about five years and they will be the rulers of the world

 

They'll be old men by then and the Zeitgeist may have shifted from the era of gym-made wokeboys to something more original and hewn. Then people will look back on the era of phony wars, pregnancy drugs and Twitter feuds with a degree of mirth.

I'm expecting Junior to bust Liam up and stop him late. If Junior loses, he officially sucks, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Liam Smith is testing fate. Last time a guy accused his opponent of being a faggot at the press conference, he ended up killed in the ring.

He choked against Saunders but was able to get himself out of that mindset and win the 2nd half of that fight. Groves was fighting on the backfoot all night and gave him problems but that fight basically ended Groves career. Liam is a punch bag against anyone decent. Eubank is also bigger and can probably just start walking through him at some point. Gotta remember big guys like Groves were running from Eubank. Nobody has ever really wanted to have a tear up with him apart from Nick Blackwell... Liam is a basic guy. I would have thought Eubank would mess around in there and it could go the distance but I think Liam is taking a beating and the towel will come in before he quits.

Eubanks a fucking stain too, though. He brings NOTHING to the sport .

He's lost everytime the other guy had skill and a pulse , wasn't shopworn to bits.

 

Make no mistake, Eubanks plumbing the sewer trying to drum up attention and publicity. He gives precisely zero fucks about the LGBTQ "community". Zero. It's all "management" and "image". Some fucking "image consultant" hit on an idea. That's it. Eubank will win and be declared a "heroic figure of our times".

Anyway, the fight itself should be fun.

Big sports weekend. I'll be watching the NFL playoffs, Prem matches, the Aussie open, and this fight.

 

From the short clip I saw, Smith really made himself look like a low class fool. Eubank handled him quite easily on the mic and I expect he'll do the same in the ring.

 

The Smith bros probably have a combined IQ of 96.

This fight means nothing. These fighters mean nothing. This event is a fraud....

 

It means nothing, but that doesn't mean that it can't be a fun match.

Junior is a guy who will never beat the elites, and L.Smith is a gatekeeper, so no, the outcome won't impact the sport much, but stylewise it should produce action.

 

In itself it's a viable fight notwithstanding that Eubank seeks out damaged oldies and notwithstanding that Smith is ,as you say, a sort of boxing bellwether.
