I dont mind calling things early: Sellik just signed a 21 year old south Korean striker (went to the w/c but didn't get much game time) and Im sold after ten minutes. Touch, low gravity strength on the ball, work rate, two footed, predatory movement in the box. An instant upgrade on Giakoumakis. Wee Kyogo faces a usurper.

You probably know this but there's a docuseries airing in the US about the Wrexham scenario & how this season is unfolding.

Translation: There are going to be a lot of US Wrexham fans soon.

Went for a run after a 4km walk and had a bit of a negative experience. Heart rate all over the shop. Quit after 4km. Still tight chested and HR hovering around 80.

On Saturday and Sunday I was bombing around, no issues.

Could be this Java coffee, pre workout etc. Just felt fucking awful so I pulled the plug.

I'm grand thanks for asking. Gotta be careful with things like blood pressure and caffeine creeping up on me like that. I was seeing stars earlier around 3pm,just little tiny white sparkles when I looked up at the blue sky.

    I reckon this lads the co-culprit .....

Weirdly, I have absolutely no recollection of Arteta playing for Rangers, even though he was there for two years.

Whats the thoughts on Dyche, @Wiser 1878? Seems a pretty sensible one

For where we are now, that's the best we're going to do.

In my time as a fan (since '04) our two worst managers were the last two. Frank & the Spanish version of Alfred Hitchcock. So there's a lot for Dyche to fix. We know he loves the 4-4-2 and we only have two strikers on the roster. Gray is better on the wing. We just sold Gordon who I considered our best player (mostly based on potential.) It'll be interesting. A lot of Everton fans have already accepted that we're headed to the Championship.

Everton can stay up. The bottom 4-5 are almost on the same points.

Dyche will surely get a good turn out of that big lump Calvert-Lewin.

Part of me's quite happy to see some 1993 fitbaw back on the premiership menu, the hipster chat about 'rest defence' and inverted fullbacks and pressing triggers is lovely but so is some meat and tatties sometimes. 4-4-2, clear your lines, win that second ball aff the big yin.

DCL scored 15 goals one season. It's hard to imagine now. Since then he's been injured about 40% of the time & when he plays, he's standing around in the box with hands on hips, waiting for service that's not coming (not all his fault.) And most of the goals he scores are tap ins from two feet away that my dog could knock in.

Dyche's mission is clear. Step one - keep us up in the Prem. He does that and we get some new blood in the summer and he's got the whole fan base behind him.

We get relegated and the misery continues.

Itd be interesting to see what Dyche does with a proper premiership budget....his transfer spending with burnley was closer to my beer spending than to some of the teams he managed to finish above.

I respect Dyche for keeping Burnley in the Prem for so long. However, I don't see him as a guy like Howe, who was clearly a good manager capable of competing at a higher level with a better team and more money. Dyche is a guy you get to keep you up but too basic to push on. He's a fun bloke though and way more likeable than the likes of Allardyce and Pardew, hope he keeps Everton up.

Decent transfer window for Arsenal. 60m spent is more than I hoped for and bringing in 3 players for that was well done. I don't rate Jorginho but he's decent cover and Arteta has wanted to sign him for the past 3 years. I'll trust his judgment as he is top of the league. Trossard is an instant impact player and Kiwior is a CB for the future.

He's a much more defensive type of 6 than Partey isnt he? Win the ball, pass it sideways. Maybe Arteta sees him as a 'see out the last 20 minutes when we're winning' option or even somebody you might use away in Manc or Anfield

I realise Arsenal are operating on a different level budget and player quality wise but, as far as i can tell, yous actually play *precisely* the same system as Celtic, basically a 2-3-4-1 with inverting fullbacks and an attack/progression oriented number 6. We've had a hell of a time finding any back up for McGregor, none of the 6s we've brought in were able to replicate what he does for us in terms of the speed and positivity of ball progression to the point where, when he got injured, rather than bringing in the 3 6s we had in reserve - all capped internationals - we ended up putting O'Riley back from 8 to do the job, where he'd never played before. So it'll be interesting to see how Arsenal fare with a more traditional, stodgy 6

That's a pretty accurate post on styles. People (not you) forget that Arteta was actually a DM for Arsenal despite playing more of an attacking midfielder for Everton. Arteta understood Wenger's style at the time and filled in quite nicely while being unappreciated. Jorginho could also spell Xhaka who also needs relief.

I see a lot of similar traits with Jorginho and Arteta the DM. He's 31 but experienced enough to understand and adjust his role. He will be the final 20 minutes of the game type of player and 12m is a bargain in this market. People laugh when I say that Zinchenko and Ben White could also spell Partey. Obviously there will be a drop off whenever a top 5 DM leaves the pitch but the players are so drilled and technical that Arsenal should still be able to impose our style of football.
