Prime Hatton would destroy Valero inside of 5, and I'm not even super high on Hatton. It would have been a rape. I think Valero would beat a Juan Diaz or Brandon Rios level lightweight, but that's about it. If he were around today, he could beat Cruz, Bozos, Rolly, and Ryan.
Hatton probably sees the distance unless he ends up running into a sneaky left hand. Whitaker also has a mean body punch that can also wear out Hatton at some point in the fight.
Hatton was not very good vs. southpaws (see Eamonn Magee, and obviously Pac), and so i think in my mind i wouldn't be surprised if he gets Juan Nazario'd
