Considering the majority of us boxing nuts consider Robinson the best to ever do it, and considering Lamotta VI is his magnum opus, could the St. Valentines Day Masaacre be considered THE finest virtuoso performance ever? Anytime I rewatch it, I certainly feel that way. Robby's combos were just off the charts that night.

Stinger hegman has already debunked this whole robinson was the gratist ov are times narrative. Napoles was the better welter

Robinson would have stopped Napoles. Too big with too much firepower. But Joey was in fact a fantastic fighter.

Duran vs Leonard I is the greatest performance ever IMO.

I see DeJesus III as Duran's BEST performance, with Leonard 1 being his greatest performance.

A great showing considering it's the best recorded footage of SRR at his best and most violent.

Duran vs DeJesus 3, Napoles vs Cokes 1 and Sanchez vs Lopez 1 are also some ATG performances.

It’s on a very short list in terms of filmed fights. There might have been better that we’ve never seen but I still think that performance would be in the top 10 even if footage of every classic fight and performance turned up.

It’s definitely Robinson’s finest performance on film by some margin. Along with the ones already mentioned, it’s definitely one of the very best and I’m not sure there’s one that’s really better. It’s a pretty damn good fight as well.

I think Jones-Toney is among the top 5-10 best performances OAT.

Hate the guy, but pbf vs corrales was a flawless performance, probably the bedt i ever saw live (rj vs hall was the most insane performance i saw, but hall was not an elite fighter)

Pac vs Barrera was one that I watched in total awe. P4p #3 was helpless as a girl

It's a very good candidate for top 10 all time.

Sanchez-Gomez I would likely rank above Pac-Barrera, as Gomez was considered #1 P4P. Plus, Sal in his early 20s was more polished and skilled than Pac in his early 20s.

Sort of like Ali against Williams was him at his best, but Zaire was his greatest performance

Dejesus 3 might be the best performance I’ve ever seen in mixing offense and defense

Fully agreed with the second paragraph. Napoles-Cokes 1 gives it a run for its money though, in terms of mixing offense and defense.

I remember watching that one and, being a huge Barrera fan at that time, I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him. I just hadn’t realised at that point just how good Pacquiao was.
