Fight is this weekend. Any excitement for this one? This could be yet another good main event that may possibly be entertaining given the styles match up. Brandon Figueroa should win this one handily given how limited a fighter Magsayo is but he still leaves himself open to be hit with his come forward style.
That’s the fight that I would really would want to see as well. Assuming Figueroa wins they should really put him in against Lara. 2023 has been shaping up as a pretty good year so far.
The fight is in my hometown and I was going to fly down but tickets are crazy expensive. I want Brandon to win. I have seen him spar many rounds and have spent many hours in the Figueroa family gym.
To the best of my knowledge, yes. He used to drive a badass black Mercedes and say that signing with PBC was the biggest mistake of his life. When he fought DeMarco I was there for his first day of sparring with a guy named Jose Prado. Three weeks later one of my fighters was going to spar Jose. We expected him to be primed up from working with Omar Jr but he was fat and sloppy. I learned later that Omar was doing most of his training in the bars in downtown McAllen.
Yes, he was with Top Rank. With PBC he did n't think that he was making enough money because he wasn't kept as active as he would have liked.
It was a pretty good fight in the first half until it got really sloppy in the last half. Magsayo’s limitation was showing once again and his stamina is absolute shit. He really screwed himself by losing a point twice for constantly holding. Figueroa showed relentlessness but still using his face as his defense.
I missed the card - was watching Chris Rock on Netflix. I recorded it, watching it now. Seems like Hurd should hang em up.
Rock is one of the GOATs for sure. Currently watching the Hurd fight. Yeah, time to hang em up. Hurd is a shell of the fighter he was 5-6 years ago. Even in his prime, I was saying his prime was gonna be short. His defense was just too bad for him to ever have longevity.
