It looks like the back line is starting to gel. Cuccurella & Fofana looked great yesterday. But they still score very few goals and I realize part if that is Potter's style. He's one of those managers that wants to win every match 1-0.

    It's how to do it.

Liverpool ,in 2005, didn't even put the ball in the net in 2 semi final legs Vs Chelsea. Got through to the semis after a 0-0 effort in Turin Vs Juventus.

Literally only time we blew anyone away, the whole 04/05 campaign, including the group stages, was Leverkusen in the 2nd round.

    It's doable.

I see that Celtic won their match 3-1 and Rangers won 4-1 so clearly they're the superior side.

A great stadium in a great location for a team that couldn't fill a pastry box much less a stadium.

Still won a trophy more recently than Newcastle ...... :Jest:

Not only that but Hibs needed Rangers to score FOR them.

You might have missed that, I'm here to make sure Catholic Conspiracy theorists don't make you storm Holyrood off the strength of a lie.

Scott Parker sacked at Club Brugge. He won two matches in three months. Parker, Lampard, the Nevilles. The new crop of English managers suck donkey dick.

Hearts actually scored a genuinely decent goal vs us- usually when spl teams score at CP its a ricochet from a set piece or some sketchy penalty but they managed to string 4 actual passes together

The two regulars beside me come over from derry & usually miss midweek games. Got a good explanation why: supporters bus leaves at 11pm....ferry leaves at 2.30....we'll get home for about 8am. Fuck. That.:Oh:

Aye, it couldve been 7 or 8 and nearly all the chances they created came through the same sort of formulaic moves- throughball down the channel, low cut back/cross across the goal. They looked a total menace.

Napoli are the best team in Europe for me, and I hope they win it. If I were them, Chelsea would be the type of side I'd want to avoid if possible. Napoli are clearly better, but Chelsea are notorious spoilers with experience. Those cunts are masters at grinding out a 1-0 aggregate win by frustrating the opposition and playing shitty football.

They did look a Menace. In fact, I wouldn't discount their chances. It would nice. I believe they haven't won Europe since the days of Eusebio.

Benfica did look superb I have to say. They are well known for being choke artists on the European stage though, no matter the tournament. I'd love them to break the curse and win the big one, they certainly seem to have the players, but psychological barriers can be huge obstacles when it gets to crunch time.

A bit like Ajax choking vs Spurs. Benefica out on penalties in the semifinal to Chelsea. We all know it

I wonder some times if the smaller clubs get into a small club mentality and fold or if the so called big ones just know how to get things done when all the chips are on the table. Hence explaining why they are 'big clubs'. I guess it's more of a case by case basis than an explanation but it is disheartening when so many matchups seem to be foregone conclusions when the football itself witnessed leading up to them doesn't point to it.

I think this might finally be the year I throw my hat at football. Just pack it in. It's not worth it. Guys can't take pennos, game riddled with rich woke cunts, time to check out, time to log off.

I often feel like an old man yelling at the clouds, but it's my opinion that all sports in general have gone to shit. They really have. In the words of Pacino, 2023 is "not a world of men."

Strange as it sounds, I've been following chess more lately than I have boxing or football.

Connor McGregor keeps piping up that he wants to buy Sellik, which im hoping is just the kind of thing a guy like that tells journalists in whisky bars at 2am. Sounds like the worst idea since Bono & Jim Kerr tried to buy us. Dermot Desmond might be a prick but at least he's got some actual experience with money besides spending it in car dealerships and snorting it up his nose

McGregor is the Irish Oscar - both talk a lot, but they mainly just spend money on cocaine.
