He was also saying he was going to buy Chelsea when they were up for sale. He's just talking shite.

Everton ends Brentford's twelve match unbeaten streak.

Dyche is 3-1-3 which is nothing to write home about but compared to our last two managers, he's getting it done. The mission is to avoid relegation and the board owe it to him to bring in a slew of players in the summer after making zero signings in January.

Or you could do what I do. Watch the sport and don't give a flying fuck what commentators or hosts have to say. And definitely don't care what players have to say other than what pertains to the sport.

I don't know how difficult it would be to stop caring about that shit because I never actually have.

Police Scotland rigging the draw to avoid the carnage of a Treble street party after an old firm final. Boo! Spoil sports

The street party would happen in the east part of the city centre which is dominated by Celtic pubs. But obviously loads of huns head that general direction for connecting trains and buses too so you can imagine the shitshow

:Jest: true that but if I could connect more with the players and didn't feel I was being fucking robbed or laughed at it would be easier.....if I was a millionaire I still wouldn't pay for football.

    It's all political now.

Joe Rogan had a piece on how to not give a fuck and let shit slide. I'll have to go back to watching it again.

For some reason, post-Trump, I'm finding it more difficult to care about politics. I still do but with a lot of apathy.

I feel like I/we were in a four year war with reality vs Trumpism and when he finally was defeated I didn't have the time or energy to care as much any more.

2021-22 was bad for it but the only politics intruding at Celtic Park this season have been fan banners for Mick Lynch and the RMT....and fans singing 'Lizzys in a box' for a few weeks. Hut endorses these messages. No edifying/hectoring top-down bullshit that i can remember. All good

Comparing MLS to the 4 English leagues based on power rankings, wages, tranfermarkt estimates, attendances, player testimonies. Tl/dr version seemed to be about what youd expect: currently pretty comparable to the championship (and USL roughly =League 1). Pretty strong. But i also saw that MLS just signed a new TV deal with Apple worth double their last one- itd be the 6th biggest in europe and double the English championship.... another 20 clubs out there outbidding Sellik for players, great :Jest:

I watch both. I think League 1 has better teams and players than USL Championship. There is a HUGE HUGE gap in quality between MLS and USL. It's probably larger than the gap between the Prem and MLS.

Almiron is proof that a MLS guy can succeed in the Prem. There's no one in USL Championship fit to compete in any big European league.

The most promising prospect in USL last year, this kid named Jose Gallegos, plays for some lower level Danish club.

He's spent plenty in fees but if Arteta manages to win the title with this wage bill it'll still be a real achievement. Kudos to Brentford too- must be one of the best run clubs in Europe

Brentford have been raided 4-5 times over the last decade yet they always seem to replace the outgoing players with improvements. Their scouting system is immense.

He seems like an absolute bellend but he's a superb forward, it has to be said. I've said for a while, even if they win the league this season, he is Arsenal's "missing piece". Just chuck all your money at him, give him some free bets on Paddy Power, and it's all there.

Liverpool needed to score first tonight to have any semblance of a chance. I still think you'll be a force next season but it's obviously a) a transitional phase for you guys and b) a season for guys like Nunez to try and catch the fuck up. Fast. I do think he's talented but it is just glimpses here and there, any other club it wouldn't be a problem but for Liverpool you really need to hit the ground running.

Poor season for sure but when you give Manure the worst beating in their history it's actually a bit sweeter that it wasn't in Liverpool's peak form. United would probably trade in their Caramel cup win if meant erasing that result from history. :Jest:

Brighton have done some good business as well lately. They're doing pretty well for a team that's sold a lot of top talent and had their manager plucked lately.

They're kind of like Southampton about 6-8 yrs ago. Keep selling the top players, keep the wages way down, still hanging in there.

The problem is how do you actually advance and you know, win something? Sure it's nice to know you have good scouting and and are financially in the black but what difference does it make when you always have to restart the race?

I hear you. I keep wondering how good they'd be if the had kept their best players and kept Potter (though the manager's doing alright.)

They are in the FA Cup quarterfinals and playing Grimsby Town so their fans are most likely going to Wembley at least once this season.

Yeah i can be a broken record but i can't stand that this is readily accepted in the football world. Maybe if i was a local diehard who just appreciates a good match and the atmosphere i would feel a bit differently.
