Could Miggy beat the mid-80s Curry?

I don’t see how he could. Curry’s hand speed would be horrible for Cotto, and his power indicates a potentially short night.

    Curry KO 6 IMO.

You sure? Shane had nearly the same advantages. From what I’ve heard of Curry he wasn’t the strongest willed guy around and he was mostly a talented underachiever. Cotto on the other hand was a gutsy strong willed guy with a great jab.

Im not sure anything in a mm, bar the obvious mismatch. Cotto is not whitout a chance, i guess his pressure and body attack could get to Curry, and make him fold, but i dont think his odds are really good. Curry is probably a bit too sharp and skilled and take a clear decision

Wtf?? I found his style great to watch. Better to watch than Cotto's style.

Donald Curry is the classic case of so overrated that he became hated, and as a result is now underrated.

I think he would chop Cotto up and stop him.

I disagree, I love watching Cotto.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's a hugger or runs away from exchanges. Curry has moments where he turns everything up and is super fun to watch, but in the same vein I consider guys like Forrest, or Bivol boring, I find Curry boring. Unbelievable boxer, and there's value in that, but the way he takes control and doesn't let go just makes for uninteresting bouts IMO. Aside from the McCrory and Starling fights, I've never watched a Curry fight more than once. I watched his whole title run.

Cotto was a lot more aggressive and open to exchanges. Plus, he was more fragile and easier to hit. It makes for more fun fights IMO; although it's why he'd lose here.

I definitely do not hate Curry, though.

Cotto was a much more exciting fighter. There's no curry fight that nearly as fun as that crazy corley fight

Actually I don’t think I’ve ever seen him fight. He slipped by me.

I think Curry batters him to be fair. This should be one-sided. Cotto is just too slow and easy to hit at that level....

Curry in his absolute prime would shred Cotto.
But Curry’s absolute prime was extremely short.
In fact,…almost non existent if it weren’t for him yo-yoing McCrory

Curry should win, but hes nowhere good enough for this to be a one sided affair

Prime 147 Curry dices up Cotto to a stoppage win.

Washed up Curry at 154 gets taken out by Cotto.

Curry was amazing at 154 in the Baez fight. That version of him would chop Cotto up at junior middle.

I think this is a one-sided 12 round beating unless Cotto gets really brave, then he gets stopped.

    CURTIS COKES' Birthplace...
Curry was Also a Naturally BIGGER Man Than Cotto, a TRUE Welterweight...Roughly 3 Inches in Height and Half a Foot in Reach Separates Them...w/Curry's Skillset, Those Advantages Would Be Toooo MUCH for Cotto to Overcome...

Cotto was VERY GOOD, Unquestionably, But It Would Take a GREAT Smaller Man to Defeat a Prime Donald Curry, in REED's Opinion...
