Based on the comments, this seems like an Evan fight. The predictions are all over the place. That’s good to see. Gonna be a fun fight. If wilder has at least 75% of his prime self, he should catch Joshua. Wilder is too tall and too long for anything Joshua does well to affect him.
So they can enjoy Christmas and we have something to rewatch on Christmas day. "Grandad look, look, his fuckin head comes off!!"
I’d really be surprised if Joshua doesn’t get knocked out. Wilder caught Fury in every fights they’ve had and Fury is way more elusive than Joshua. Fury was tough enough to get back on his feet and fight back, I don’t believe Joshua’s tough enough to get through that and fight back.
I honestly don’t mind this. Better it happen now then not happening at all. Who knows, could be a very entertaining fight while it lasts.
Joshua'a best chance is to go out and try to get there first but i dont think he's got to the balls to
Especially after that first loss he had to Andy Ruiz. He’d give himself a chance if he went out there and tried to land first, push Wilder back, hammer the body. But that’s not AJ. He’ll either get laid out or quit in his stool.
Yeah, I don’t see him quitting on his stool, I see him getting hurt and not being able to recover fast enough to mount a comeback. When I say he isn’t tough enough, I’m not talking about his mental fortitude, I’m talking about his general resistance to punishment.
I think part of it is mental tho. He gets hit and hurt, he smiles. He loses, he goes out his way to try to show people back stage he's still feeling good. He's got too much going on up there.
Yep, Joshua was RELIEVED... As if the Weight of the World Had Just Been Lifted Off his Shoulders....REED Doesn't Expect a Fighter to Replicate James "Harlem Hammer" Butler's Reaction to a Loss, But Joshua's Reaction to the Ruiz KO was DISGUSTINGLY & DISTURBINGLY "Gracious"... REED
Maybe, but he’s not a quitter. Klitchko had him hurt badly and he gathered himself and found a way to win. Against Ruiz, he was on queer street but continued trying. He might have been relieved the ref decided for himself but I think quitting was out of the question.
I know what you mean I'm just saying I didn't really "like" his reaction. Usually when a prize fighters loses, particularly when they're undefeated at the time it's a massive disappointment whereas Joshua seemed glad to be done with it. Not something you expect to see at the top level. If he gets hit by a bomb i think it's very likely he mentally checks out even if doesn't outright quit.
Exactly how I see it. No he won't pack his bag the first time he gets hit (no boxer at this level does) but his ''commitment'' to fight through fire is a big question mark at best.
Aye I think its the same thing that caused him to smirk when Ruiz rubbered him. Its usually a good coping strategy to a step back from your problems to see the big picture or the wry humour but not when Deontay Wilder is winging at you. That guys gotta be all there. He's gotta be a honey badger, not Marcus Aurelius, all amygdala, zero frontal cortex.
Joshua ain't the toughest bloke around but his skillset is so superior to wilder he can land first and take guy out I wouldnt wager on it , most of you are choosing mentality. Both these guys are not worth shit in the grand scheme of things I do dislike that if wilder knocks this guy out it will validate him in the eyes of some as the clear-cut defining Victory of his overrated career
Wilder will always have a delusional legion of fans, but most people will remember that he wasn't all that good. He'll be remembered as a great puncher, but hugely flawed everywhere else. I don't think there's anyone left on Earth who thinks Wilder could have beaten a Lewis or a young Tyson; two statements Wilder fanatics used to make before Fury exposed him. There's more pressure on AJ. If he loses, he won't be remembered at all. His career will be considered a sham. He'll be forever thought of as more of an attraction than a fighter.
Might be Usyk-Wilder instead Shock twist set to improve Saudi tournament starring Fury, Joshua, Wilder & Usyk
The fat MW who was out-boxed by midget Shawn Porter would out-box Wilder for 10 rounds until the windmill lands in round 11 and it's over
Nice...even better. Wilder knock him out COLD...or dislocates his shoulder throwing/missing haymakers.
