The evidence against Baldomir is really shaky.

His ex wife went to the cops claiming that the daughter, abused btw the ages of 7 and 9, had been abused by him.

It might well never have fucking happened. Is my point. I've read report after report which has adduced nothing in the line of evidence bar one person's word - that of an impressionable child- against another's, with a rake of cash to be had.....and the ex-wife was the main mover in the affair.

I am no expert of Argentinian justice system, but I'd be very very surprised if even there a man (and somewhat rich and famous one at that) could be sentenced based on word against word basis

Why are you defending someone accused of child molestation? This is the first time I've heard of Baldomir being framed. On other boxing forums where I've posted, the general consensus is that he's a pos. While there are cases of innocent people caught in the system, they are rare. Most inmates are guilty. I find it hard to believe these young girls are lying. As a parent, you understand that children rarely make up stories about their fathers, especially if they have a loving relationship. Fuck Baldomir.

 

I didn't say he was framed. I said I'd read report after report and the greatest evidence I could gleam from them was the daughter told the ex wife he did some things to her and he was found guilty.

 

And unless the court is totally corrupted, that will never lead to a sentence alone. It always needs validation from a psychiatrist, doctor and/or police. Word against word is never enough.

Mind you, usually the records of sexual crime cases, especially ones including children, are not public information. So unless there is a strong conspiracy included, there is more to the case.
