I'm watching Europa and Conference games today.

I'm thinking Juventus probably wins Europa. Rooting for Leverkusen to win it though.

Rooting for West Ham to win the Conference League.

For some reason you just cannot bet against Sevilla in this competition. They do nothing in La Liga, in the Champions League they get knocked out by the likes of Leicester, but in the Europa they just seem to steamroll everyone and win it all the time. I just don't get it.

Make no mistake, that missed penalty aside, Leeds winning here is really Liverpool's last shot at top 4

Yeah the goal difference too. It's all hugely against them. Last two performances have been really decent though. Too little, too late. A day late and a dollar short as the fella says.

All we can hope for is one of the pizza eating clubs to win the CL but just as unlikely although being it's a single game not impossible.

Those 3 city goals were ridiculous, you can't do a thing against that. Gundogan's first is GOTY for me, almost Bergkamp level deftness. Also impressed by Haaland's screentest for the new planet of the apes, fuck cgi

Ultimately an irrelevance but we sure were shite & Im disappointed that a couple of the newer guys we'd be hoping to step up failed to do so. We need 4 or 5 more guys at that CCV, jota, Kyogo level to push on and it doesn't quite look like these guys are gonna be it

I think it's near-impossible to compete with this City team over the course of a league season. Arsenal are a quality side, I think they should go all out and try to buy Toney in the summer. He is the missing piece for them imo. Is that enough to bridge the gap to City? No, not for me only because of City's squad depth, but they can certainly get closer. The problem for them is Newcastle are only going to get stronger over the coming seasons and Liverpool will rebuild too.

You've basically got to set yourself a target of 90 points minimum these days to have a realistic chance of winning the title, which is mental.

Ironically they've outperformed by any metric you apply. You can't win the league from 6th. It's been done once and the team that did it finished with LOWER points then (Leicester 2016, 81 points) than Arsenal will.

It's the feeling that they could have done it that pervades.

    Leicester Vs Liverpool..

Have to fancy Leicester simply because their survival and the financial well-being of club employees is on the line.

Good recent results for Forest, Leeds, Everton have heaped pressure on them..

Yeah I read that earlier. 2013/14 was really tight throughout and Mourinho/Chelsea were always going to relish spoiling the party at Anfield (not to mention the fact they were a good side themselves). I've said it before but they had to go for it against Palace and try to claw back City's GD to have any hope of winning the title. They got punished for it but a 3-0 win wasn't going to be enough anyway.

We let it go but it was like a guy running a marathon from a state of obesity and collapsing a mile from the end as some Kenyan cruised past him..

We were outside the top 4 by New Year's.....it wasnt till February and the 5-1 drubbing of Arsenal that anyone said anything.

Even then we needed major results to go out way like Palace beating Chelsea etc
