I'm half-hoping Liverpool fuck this up. I just don't think I could hang out here if Liverpool get 4th at Newcastle's expense.

Even then I'm sure Newcastle would crack it next season.

I will always have a fondness for them because they give clubs like mine hope that the glass ceiling can be broken, even if it's unlikely.

Yeah I don't hate them or even think about them all that much but when they won the league it suddenly became a reflection on Liverpool

At that point Liverpool had finished on no fewer than 3 occasions with more points than Leicester had managed the year they won it.

    82 in 05/06
    86 in 08/09
    83 in 13/14

In 05/06, 82 points got you THIRD.

So it just rankled.....all the fucking memes...."This is Kasper Schmeichel.hes just won the title...the last time Liverpool won the title his dad was yet to win one at United"

Statistically still stacked in Newcastle's favour.

    But....

I think Vardy will retire or maybe have one season to try and get Leicester back up, but whilst he is still a wonderful finisher, his legs are gone.

Strictly speaking they're not gone yet but it's noteworthy that that's how we're talking about them.

It's odd....Everton have not only never won the title they've never come close to it and they've come closer to relegation more recently than Leicester but it seems more "natural" to regard Leicester as relegation fodder than Everton.

As for Vardy you're right. He'll go down with the ship....but Madison won't. Evans will. I think in a way they'll be glad of a break.

I'm hearing now his wife has a new angle:- she was molested by the Jehovah's Witnesses.

    Adios Leicester. Enjoy the Championship.

Who's the favorite to sign Maddison?

I think Leicester will go down. Leeds will go with them. Everton to survive by the skin of their teeth.

The championship is going to be incredibly difficult next season.

    Him and Harvey Barnes.

    Probably Chelsea :Jest:

It comes down to wages and politics

I can see him at Fulham or Brentford or West Ham.

Nice move to London. Forget about Wolves or Villa, they're local rivals in the West Midlabds and politics would rule it out.

Newcastle will have the money and probably the top4 spot too so they'd be hugely attractive and able to buy him but they'll be shopping in much bigger shops than FC Firestorm, they'll be looking for much bigger fish.

Another name that's fallen off the radar is Ex-Leeds Kalvin Phillips....he "got out" before Leeds collapsed but truth be told his sale probably precipitated rather than preceded the collapse, a bit of both perhaps

He went to City, took a fat paycheck and promptly disappeared off the radar and sits around collecting his money. He'd be well advised to get out and join a club where he gets a regular slot. Liverpool need a player like him.

I think Maddison will go to Newcastle. They've been chasing him for a while, it's an exciting time to be a player there with the club on the up, and obviously a good chance too that he'll be playing Champions League football next season too.

If Newcastle land Maddison, I would think they'd be a threat to finish as high as 2 next season.

I think they'll need more than that but presumably they are going shopping for more than one player anyway.

I think they'll get more too but if you look at it, this season the only thing that held them back from actually being in genuine contention with the top 2 has been the amount of draws. They've lost one more game than City. If they had someone who could be the difference-maker in those tight games then who knows.

Saying that, I do wonder if they'll go for some of the Napoli players (I hope not, as like you I want to see good teams stay together), however the sad reality is they have the money now to tempt them away.

Maybe so but you can't look at an entire season and say it such and such a player was there it would have turned every one of those draws into a win. To compete with the likes of Citeh you need depth. Any guy on their roster is out for six weeks it's not a catastrophe like it would be with so many other squads.

Oh yeah for sure, any team that beats City to the title will need a lot of luck in the injury department.

I can't get over how a city like Coventry just doesn't compete at the highest level.

Coventry, Bradford, Birmingham should all be routinely competing for a place in the top flight.

Luton isn't a big place. Full of South Asians who don't watch -or won't pay to watch- Soccer. And there's only ever two men and a dog showing up at the games in Boro.

If Inter win...man,it would be like the Raiders in the early 80s. A Hodge podge of failed retreads and no hopers somehow forged into the greatest side of all.

But City are wide wide favourites.
