Thurman had a good run, all things considered. It's not like he was a flash in the pan. He had an above average prime from 2013-2017. He took Shawn & Danny's 0s. So its not like he has to walk away in shame after Spence retires him.

*Correction: I momentarily forgot that Brook took Shawn's 0.

For the record, it appears to me that Spence doesn’t have that same hunger to fight anymore either. He could have fought somebody else in November since they apparently knew the Crawford fight fell through last summer.

This is basically a cash grab for both. I fully expect Keith to retire from the sport for good after this, and Spence will probably fight sporadically at 154, and we can only hope it will be agaisnt one of Crawford, Charlo-Tszyu winner, or Ennis.

Spence is 32. I don't think he's in his physical prime anymore (I think his peak was 2017-2018) but he's not exactly fast declining either. I don't see him retiring anytime soon. Probably by his late 30s, but not soon.

Just about every fighter is at their peak of hunger in their 20s. The only exception is if theyre a late-starter. I don't expect Spence to be as hungry now as he was at 25.

Are both Spence and Thurman fat here which is why it's for 154 lbs

Spence would land the left hand like a million times on Fundora, the same Fundora that needs to go eat a double cheese with fries for $2.95

I kinda get it from a business perspective from Spence, although it's still really disappointing. He will beat Thurman easily and Keith is enough of a name to get some decent dosh from it.

I think he could have gotten a solid opponent like a Stanionis in the mean time.

I never believed it was gonna go down in July. It’s a little late to make announcement for a July 29th date.

We won’t see this fight. I blame BOTH guys.

More Importantly, BOTH of Their Legacies Will Be NEGATIVELY Impacted...For Them, Post-Boxing Life Will ALWAYS Circle Back to "Why Didn't You Fight Spence/Crawford", Instead of Their Respective Accomplishments...

The One Fight They Collectively FAILED to Make Is Bigger Than ALL The Fights They DID Make, Combined...Historically Speaking, Their Particular Era Will Be DEVOID of a Dominant, Clear-Cut Champion, Which is a RARITY for Welterweight...

Spence-Crawford SHAT the Bed and Did a DISSERVICE to the Boxing Public...There's Really NO Other Way to Put It...Best Thing They Could Do Now Is Move the Fuck UP to '54 and Clear the Path for Boots or Verg to Vie for Who's Got NEXT...

Crazy how do many of the current big stars seem to be wasting their prime. Both of those clowns and Tyson Fury completely threw the last year (if not more) in the garbage bin. And none of them have a compelling fight coming up. Tank is just looking for money fights agaisnt average fighters. Really disappointing....

True, but it s also highly disappointing how he basically disappeared after the Pac loss (and it was a very bad loss imo for a supposed next generation superstar to lose ghis way to an old, smaller fighter no matter how great he was).

I predicted that he'd retire after the Pac loss. Well, there was the Barrios "comeback," but he's basically retired.

I'm not mad at Keith. He has a sexy ass wife, and I believe he recently had his second kid. I wish him well.

Plus the longer a fighter is away from the sport, the harder it is to come back. Especially when you have a sexy ass exotic wife like he does, and all that money. The good life. I doubt he fights again.

Reports coming out saying July 29th is official for Crawford and Spence but neither guy has confirmed it.

I won’t believe it until there’s a press conference announcing it.
