This has always been a talked about MM among hardcores. Tony was a lot more naturally talented than Matt, and had better technique, but Hilton appeared to have more raw power and a better chin. Who wins?
I used to say Hilton, but I suspect that Ayala would have busted Hilton up. His shots were a lot more compact and accurate. Ayala would have been destroyed by the 4 Kings, but I think he was good enough to whup Matt.
It came very close to us finding out his worth. The Davey Moore fight was official when Tony got locked up. I'll always believe that Ayala probably would have stopped Moore. He was a more talented, powerful, and sophisticated fighter than Moore was.
