Jaime Munguia vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko

This fight is supposed to take place on the same weekend as Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on DAZN and I think this could be another interesting fight this Saturday. Jaime Munguia has never really impressed me but Derevyanchenko is the right dance partner to make it an entertaining fight. Derevyanchenko is a tough warrior that’s been unlucky with back to back losses against GGG, Charlo, Adames. I’m hoping he pulls out a win against Munguia.

 

I had no clue whatsoever this fight was happening until right now. But with Taylor-Teo on Saturday..

derevyanchenko seems badly declined from when he shoulda got the decision vs golovkin. he still may have enough to whip munguia, either way should be a war. a good lead in to lopez taylor as it should end right around when that main event begins

 

Not as compelling or interesting as Taylor vs Teo but it’s likely for the fight to entertaining. We have 2 fights on the same night that could be fun while it lasts.

Munguia's promoter should be heralded for making a slightly better than average contender into an "undefeated" main event "champion." With a less creative and resourceful promoter, Munguia would've already lost 3 title shots and be lucky to appear as the B-side on undercards.
