I'm not even certain if David Morrell Jr. has a substantial fan base, except perhaps if the fight were to take place in Miami. Although it is undoubtedly an exciting matchup that you and I would enjoy witnessing, it is crucial to acknowledge that Benevidez possesses a significantly higher status in terms of name recognition compared to Morrell. Benevidez has climbed a few rungs up the ladder in the boxing world, while Morrell is still establishing himself as a rising talent. Consequently, for Benevidez, engaging in a bout against Morrell represents a high-risk endeavor with limited potential rewards. I apologize for bursting your bubble, but it is highly unlikely that this fight will materialize, my friend.

You're making the assumption that every single fighter is scary, and fearful of fighting a high-risk opponent. Maybe Benavidez isn't.

And... Morrell has a belt, so is there is that incentive to fight him.

Moreover, if Canelo continues to avoid Bena, there isn't any other viable option for him at 168 BESIDES Morrell.

The biggest "name" at 168 other Canelo and Benavidez is Berlanga, and we all know that Benavidez-Berlanga won't happen. Not with Berlanga at Matchroom and Benavidez at PBC.

Benavidez-Morrell becomes kind of necessary, and easy to make because both are Showtime/PBC.

And for the record I hope I'm wrong. I would love to see that fight.

As a Documented Canelo Fan Himself, REED Can't Recall Ever Being More Disappointed in Him Than Currently...

Canelo's Burning the Candle from Both Ends, Which is Bullshit...He DOESN'T Want Smoke w/Benavidez AND He Wants to Maintain His Status as Undisputed Supermiddleweight Champion, Simultaneously...The Sanctioning Bodies Have Allowed Canelo to Have it HIS Way Forever, But That Shit Needs to Cease and Desist Pre-2024...

From the Moment He was Stripped for Missing Weight, Benavidez Has Been the WBC's # 1 Contender, Even PRIOR to the WBC Allowing Canelo to Exercise His Mandatory Defense Against the # 2 Ranked Yildirim, Instead...It's Literally Been 2 YEARS and 4 Months Since Canelo's Had a WBC Mandatory Defense...

If Canelo's Reached the Point Where he's NOT Up to Facing Tough, Young Challenges Anymore, COOL, No Harm No Foul...But He Can't AVOID Those Dudes AND Keep All the Fucking Belts Hostage Also...Nope, Not Any Loooooonger...Shit or Get OFF the Toilet Bruh...

When Floyd Started Facing the McGregor's of the World He Made it CLEAR He Wasn't Entertaining ELITE Opposition Anymore, UPFRONT...Pay @ Your OWN Risk, Moving Forward...REED Gets It, Being "Canelo Alvarez"' is a LOFTY Position to Be In, One Only a HANDFUL of Fighters Can Relate To, in History...A Spot You're Not Going to WILLINGLY Relinquish...

But Bullshitting the Hardcore Boxing Public Like This is Chipping AWAY @ Canelo's Legacy Bit by Bit...

I predict that the loser of Canelo-Charlo retires.

Jermall might very well just view it as his cash out. Assuming he loses (and I think he will), he walks away.

If Jermall pulls the upset and wins cleanly, then I think it's Canelo who may opt to hang em up.

As a dedicated supporter of Canelo Alvarez, I must admit that I share your current disappointment with his choice of opponents. It seems that Canelo is trying to maintain his status as the undisputed super middleweight champion while avoiding tough challenges, particularly in the form of David Benavidez. This approach, in my opinion, is not in line with the spirit of true competition.

We understand that being "Canelo Alvarez" is a prestigious position, one that only a handful of fighters in history can relate to. It is a spot he may not want to willingly relinquish. As devoted fans, we expect transparency and honesty from our boxers. It is my hope that Canelo reevaluates his approach and chooses to face the best available competition, thus preserving his revered place in the sport. He's losing the respect from his most devoted Mexican fans.

There's a lot of weird shit going on. In Canelo's camp, Bene, and Bivol's.

According to Bene's Manager Lewkowicz, the Morrell fight was signed months ago. Why send the A-Side Canelo a "take it or leave it deal" only to pull it in 7 days with a signed fight w/Morell?

Bivol wants the Re at 168. Canelo wants the Re at 175. At 168 Bivol can become undisputed if he wins. At 168, if Canelo wins, everyone will say he beat a weight drained Bivol. If I was Bivol I'd demand 25-35 mill at 175. He'll never sniff that money again.

Canelo's camp seems to be all over the place, they know he's slipping, but not washed. Overly cautious unless they get the fight they want (Bivol) 175?
