Fulton vs Inoue: Final Predictions

I think it's hilarious that people used to say Loma was the best fighter in the world over this guy.

 

Fuck the Japanese are so respectful. Its so quiet that it feels more like the U S open than a boxing event.

Definitely? It wasn’t like power is what completely won him the fight. It was an accumulation of well placed shots. Before that Fulton was taking his punches no problem until he got caught with a perfect punch and a beautiful follow up. On top of all that it was still only a TKO.

That's a misconception.

If you watch Japanese action fights from the 90s, the crowd is electric. At football (soccer) and baseball games, the Japanese crowd is electric.

I suspect this is a crowd of "proper" uppity class Japanese instead of the blue collar class.

 

Lol. You never fail to sneak in a shot on fighters you dislike. I’m not sure those guy’s primes lined up, so for someone to make that claim it would be pretty pointless.

 

I didn't arbitrarily pull it out, their primes did in fact line up.

 

I don't think so. I can picture him moving up one more weight class and still be able to carry his power. He might be like Pacquiao and be able to carry his power up to several weight classes.

 

Either way I don’t see how this win somehow proves anything. I think a fight between those two is a toss up. In his prime Loma was borderline untouchable with his defense and he threw punches nearly nonstop. The guy just fought differently. A Naoya win isn’t guaranteed here.

 

If inoue went to 130 and fought navarette it would look like pacquaio Margarito

Inoue putting on arguably is best performance to date. What a way to show that he’s the best by jumping on to the best fighter of that division while moving up in weight. I can’t see anyone beating him.

 

I think Inoue-Navarette would be more like Duran-Cuevas than Pac-Margito. Just a quick blowout. Navaratte doesn't have a chin like Margarito.

 

Marlon tamales is food for monstroids. Another unified division

 

This will be an easy road for Inoue to becoming a 2 time undisputed champ. Tápales has nothing to offer.

Inoue should fight Luis Nery and Casimero afterwards just so he can end those 2 guys.

 

Fulton has balls of steel for getting up from that first knockdown.

 

Not that Inoue or any fighter is that cerebral but it reminds me of chess world champion Gary Kasparov philosophy/strategy of continuing to make threats until your opponent makes a mistake.

Naoya used a quick, stiff jab and mixed in power shots. When he wasn't doing that there ware both jabs and hooks to the body. Fulton seemed to be prepared for the power, but couldn't handle every threat because it was was so consistent and varied. Obviously Fulton could have done more but that was a great performance.

 

And Loma in the eyes of most beat a bigger and better opponent just recently at a later age. Anybody taking Fulton over Lomachenko?

And yeah, Inoue's style is kinda like Kasparov's. Dynamic and always on the attack.

In the ultimate irony, just yesterday I was watching online analyses of some of Kasparov's early 90s games. Such a wrecking ball he was.

 

I actually saw Fulton vs Roman in person last year. It wasn't the best way to determine how good Fulton was, but he was superbly dominant in that fight.

Fulton's style can be very difficult for even excellent fighters. The fact that it wasn't difficult in any way for Inoue is impressive. I hope this guy isn't a juicer. He seems to be a great fighter.

 

Inoue and every other athlete is juiced.

 

Respect to Fulton. Did the damn thing. Maybe he got paid great and as a smaller fighter he can't just sit back and get overpaid like some of haymons stable. But he took the risk
