I agree Spence is better. But he's also a very different fighter than Spinks. That was my only point.

    Nah, Spence would beat Mayorga.

Forrest might be a different story.

Spence looked so horrible last night, i wonder if we didnt just terribly overrated him. Considering how close his fight with Porter was (another bullrushing type of guy), i wouldnt be so confident that he beats Mayorga.

Spence is an excellent fighter. No one would ever say otherwise.

Do I think he's a great fighter? No, personally, I think he falls a bit short of that.

He falls into my very good category, the same category I have Cotto in.

Five years ago I said he would stop Bud late. Hence the whole purpose of saying I overrated him. What in the world is wrong with admitting that? Would you rather me say: "Saturday night was a farce! The prime Spence grinds Bud down!"

When Tyson KO'd Spinks, the boxing world at the time was SURE he'd end up as the heavyweight GOAT. It didn't pan out that way. Opinions change on fighters.

Despite the million excuses you've given for Spence, even at his physical apex, he isn't as talented and skilled as Bud.

Before last night, i would have picked him over Cotto. Now, id make Miggy a solid favorite over him

I would disagree, given that Cotto had a stamina problem. If prime Spence is still pressing Cotto late, then EJ has the edge.

The question on Spence's end would be when Cotto counters in-between with his sharp hook, could Spence's chin handle it? It's possible, as Cotto didn't have the explosion in his hook that Oscar had.

Thing about Cotto is, I think Bud would have also battered Cotto in a one sided fight. Probably not anymore competitive than Pac-Cotto was.

Crawford would have certainly battered 145 pound cotto who was dead at the weight, agreed

Yes, Cotto accomplished more and has a deeper resume. I meant that the 2017 Spence and the 2007 Cotto are similar.

Not gonna lie, I'm probably selling Cotto short. He did edge Mosley.

I think even the 2007 Mosley would knock out Spence. Therefore, you could easily argue that Cotto peaked higher.

Yeah, I don't see a savage beating. I see Spence taking a rough but deserved decision over prime Mayorga.

    A couple more guys:

I reckon Spence would take a decision over Simon Brown. He'd have to box though. If he went to war like he did versus Porter, Brown would knock hom out.

Spence is probably too physically strong for Buddy McGirt, but it would be a close fight.

After rewatching the Brook fight, I would make Spence a clear underdog versus Curry. The 85 Curry kicks Errol's ass.

Napoles vs Spence: Well, let's just say it would be the second Dallas fighter that Napoles batters.

Yeah Spence - as of now - is a flash in the pan compared to Cotto

Calm down. Spence isn't a flash in the pan compared to Miggy. A flash in the pan is a guy who has one good year and falls apart. Spence has had a very good career, but like I said, he fell short of great.

Flash in the pan is Buster Douglas, who had one great night.

Errol had a good run. And if Arturo Gatti is in the hall of fame, Errol deserves it too.

I will not! I said comparatively. I agree he is not a flash in the pan. But next to Cotto, he looks like one. I'm not the size of an ant but you look at me from a hot air ballon I am.

You're making Cotto sound like Ezzard Charles. He's not. Spence isn't some peon compared to Cotto.

Ezzard Charles would KO both of them, though.

Spence's problem is that he's a straightforward fighter without much head movement. He used to overpower and bully his opponents, which worked against lower-level fighters, but it didn't work against Crawford. The difference lies in their fighting IQ; Crawford is smarter and more adaptable. You can even tell from Spence's post-fight interviews that he might be dealing with brain damage due to his aggressive style. To be successful, he needs to learn to adjust and think critically in the ring, not just rely on brute force.

Nonsense! Ezzard Charles would get slapped in the face by Plant and run away.
