I will like to see Spence have a few more fights at 154.

    1. Too better assess Bud victory, yes it was dominating. But did Spence get old/fell off like a mf over the one year layoff? Or did Bud power and and skills were the determining factors.

    2. Did he kill himself to make the weight?

Spence didn't look right in the Bud fight...but only after the first knockdown. Just look at him ducking to throw the jab, sure he was scared of getting tagged w/ Bud jab but that some amateur shit defense.

When Spence threw the right jab he would push the left way out in front of him for no reason...waiting just waiting to get counter by Bud.

Regardless he shouldn't fight Bud again or Boots.....just a few fight at 154 to better understand Bud victory...

We need a reset in the world….

in one had boxing/sport writer saying Crawford is the best boxer since SRL

In the other Twitter tears saying a prime healthy Andre BERTO would beat Crawford….

    Fuk it ALL!!!….

here I might be throwing one back at the planet…

this fight for Crawford was his Floyd vs Corrales moment….just like Floyd he had a few decent wins Gemaro, Manfrefy…but Spence was the one that let the world know he’s a class above….

Floyd did it young…how old is Bud?

That's the internet for ya. It's either one extreme or the other.

Crawford is certainly an all time great. Is he as good as Leonard, Roy, Whitaker, and Floyd? No, I don't think so. Not quite.

I think he's more on par with Ward than those guys, which is why I just started the thread I did.

Thank you for saying that because the recency bias is getting way out of hand here. So after outclassing a guy who visibly looked like shit in the ring Crawford is greater than Floyd, Sweet Pea and Pacquiao? The Andre Berto shit is ridiculous because I wouldn’t give Berto a shot against Spence the other night, but Bud didn’t become an all time great off the Spence win.

Yes Bud looked great but there’s a big difference between looking great against a fighter who looks shot versus a fighter who looks sharp and skilled and Spence looked anything but that. I’m not trying to take anything away from Bud, he did what he was supposed to do and did it great, I’m just saying some people need to take a little more perspective on how the opposition looked and maybe taper it down a bit.

Philly Hip Hop personality Wallo was texting both Crawford and Boots. Wallo said to Bud that Boots is ready, and Bud responded: "Yall wanna see another dead body?" Then Boots texted: "He's just acting for yall cause he plans on going to 54. Tell him to stay at 47 so we can get active!"

Let's see what the ppv numbers are for Saturday. If they're good (700+k)

Then maybe someone will put guaranteed dollars up for an ennis fight at welter

More likely him against charlo at 154, me thinks

I have a feeling it went at least as high as 700k. Do I think it outsold Davis-Garcia? No. I'd be very surprised if it did.

    I predict around 800k.

IF Jermell upsets Canelo (unlikely, but not impossible) then drops back down to 54 and Bud thrashes him, then we're talking about Bud having a SERIOUS all time great legacy. He'd probably go down as greater than the Grand Rapids woman beater at that point.

Nobody has mentioned this possibility yet, but I think it's very possible we see Bud vs Timmy Tszyu next.

Bud would kill Tszyu. Timmy isn’t that good.

Tim Tszyu is good. He's obviously out of his league against Bud, but he's a good fighter. I would take Tszyu to beat Vergil Ortiz.

For what its worth, Bud would have also stopped Tim's daddy at 140.

Tszyu vs Ortiz would be a fire fight. I’d tune in.

I don't think Vergil has the best chin. I think Tim's firepower would be too much for him.

I could see that. There’s no way it goes the distance. I could see both hitting the canvas. Would come down to durability.

The worst possible realistic option if Spence doesn't execute the rematch clause is CONOR BENN

I don't think it is about beating Spence per se.

The thing with Bud is, he has looked like a truly great fighter for long but since his resume has been putrid, we can't have been sure about his true abilities.

Just recently we pondered his chances against Vernon Forrest in the MMs and there was not enough proof to confidently pick him there, since he hadn't beaten fighters of that caliber.

Now, since he beat the best (most proven) welterweight out there just as easily as his earlier opponents, we can safely assume that Bud truly is a formidable fighter. Beating Spence isn't enough, but that added to the eye-test is pretty convincing.

Of course picking him over Hearns or such is going overboard, but a fact is that against this opposition that has been available, Crawford couldn't have been much more impressive

Yeah, I mentioned that already. I actually agree with Stephen A.

Spence has a family. He's gonna end up badly brain damaged if he continues. The car accident + ring punishment is gonna totally fuck him up. I would advise him to retire if I was in his inner circle.

IF he does continue his career, it sure as shit shouldn't be against Bud again.

I suspect that if Spence truly does force the rematch (i hope not), that it's because he's cashing out.

If he wants to continue fighting then I'm sure the rematch includes certain guarantees to where it's easily his top payday

Well just be clear stupid a smith ain’t stupid for his take on Spence. But nah I don’t think he should retire. He had a bad night. Imagine Hearns retiring after Haglar. Or Duran after Leonard.

bevause I rather see Canelo vs Benevidez/Bivol/Morell/the pr bum/or the protected mejican in a competitive fight…Charlo is going to jump to 164-5 to get splattered.

To them come back down to 154 and take 1-2 years to fight Crawford…
