Regardless my statement holds true since I been closely following boxing the last 30 years. Buncha overhyped, mouthy, underachieving fighters from nyc

I realize that, but I was serious about this thread, even though I made the joke. The question has never been asked before.

Ah damn, my bad. You’re right.

He was a farmer in upstate NY.

Benny Leonard or Jake Lamotta could contend for his spot.

Never forget, pre-June 2005 there were a lot of guys on this forum saying that Harris would KO Tszyu, Hatton, and Cotto.

I don't follow broad boxing like that, but I know for goddamn sure there isn't a woman in history as talented as Loma. So, I'd say Fimo stacks up.

It seems the big name Brownsville fighters tend to be underachievers (sometimes headcases).

It's Because They Expect the Mere Mention of the Word "Brooklyn" to INTIMIDATE Motherfuckers, Not Realizing Tough Guys Come from EVERYWHERE...

    Just Ask Bud Crawford...

I won't lie, between Mike, Bowe, Zab, Eddie MM, and Fimo (all Brooklyn fighters) they all have in common incredible talent, but head cases. Briggs too, but Briggs wasn't an exceptional talent like those guys. If you wanna stretch it out to the whole city you can add Camacho, but Hector was from Spanish Harlem not BK.

I think of Barney Ross as more of a Chicago fighter than New York. Even though he was born in NYC, he didn’t really grow up there - I think his family left and moved to Chicago when he was two.
