Shakur is way more popular in the urban community, and I don't see that ever changing. So if you're asking who has a bigger future in terms of star power, then Shakur.

Who's better? Shakur is more defensively gifted. In fact, Shakur might be the most defensively gifted southpaw since Pete.

However, Boots has that Roy-like dynamism and power to him that you don't see often (not at the same level of Roy but still), so I'd say Boots is better.

Popularity isn't always about excitement. Haney's one of the most popular fighters in the sport. He's especially popular in the Black community, despite the fact that he's the #1 most boring cunt in boxing.

Shakur has a certain charisma to him that Boots lacks. And I know a lot of women who think Shakur is good looking, which always helps when you appeal to females.

Boots' popularity is def growing though! Perhaps I shouldn't have said it will never change. In 3-5 years Boots may in fact be a bigger star. He isn't close yet though.

Mind you, I live only 30 mins away from Newark, so of course Shakur is popular here. But I'm not all that far from Philly (less than a hour with light traffic). Boots' fanbase is increasing.

Shakur is probably more skilled but he doesn't have the same excitement that Boots brings. Boots has fast hands and explosive power as well as an entertaining style that gives shades of RJJ. Shakur would have to beat Tank while Boots would have to beat Crawford if they want that super star status and future of boxing label.

    Neither fight is ever happening.

For Crawford-Ennis, I'm not gonna fault Bud at all. Boots isn't Bud's generation. He just destroyed the other best welterweight of his generation, and now he wants big money fights, so I get it.

Shakur-Tank won't happen because Tank is a pussy. Doesn't care a bit about his legacy. Just wants to fleece the public by fighting hand-picked opponents.

    Floyd as Well...

By the Time he was Reaping the FAME & FORTUNE of Being "Money May", Floyd was a Welter/Super Welter and RARELY in Entertaining Bouts Anymore...The Floyd of 140 & Below was Entertaining MORE Times Than Not, But That Wasn't the Case with the Floyd of '47 & Above....

Yet He was POPULAR, to Your Point...

Despite Some EARLY Out of the Ring Baggage, Shakur Has a CHILD LIKE Quality That's Endearing...When He Smiles, He Looks Like a 12 Year Old KID or Some Shit...REED's Reluctant to Use the Word "Innocent", Cause Shakur AIN'T That (Who Is Though? :Dont:), But He DOES Have a Non-Threatening WAY About Him, Whether REAL or Merely PERCEIVED...

On Sone Boxing Shit, REED Looooooooooooooooves How Shakur NAMES NAMES...He Not Only Tells You WHO He's Offered Fights To, But WHAT Excuse They Used to Decline His Offers..."Kambosos Said He's Had Too Many Tough Fights Back to Back"...."Pitbull Cruz Said All I Would Do is Run"...."William Zepeda Said He Ain't Ready Yet"....

If Boots Keeps Knocking Opponents Out in Spectacular Fashion, That'll Swing the Pendulum In His Favor a Bit...

What REED Loooooooooves More Than Anything About Shakur & Boots is They Both Seem to Be AMBITIOUS; They Want it NOW, Not LATER...

All the young cats from 135-147 are ambitious except for Tank.

Shakur, Fimo, Haney, Boots, they all want the smoke.

Stank wants to put hands on his baby mom rather than put hands on the world's elite.

What’s crazy is Tank isn’t even the champion at 135 and all his groupies act like he’s got the belts. Fuck outta here.

Tank is a career duck artist. He ran from Loma his whole career.

I think Ennis is better and has a more entertaining style too (he's more handsome too Xplosive lol). However, it's hard to know for sure cause neither have proven ''intangibles''. Furthermore, it seems much more likely that Shakur will get a superfight (or two) way before Boots.

I think Shakur is slightly better than Boots but as X pointed out, Boots has that dynamic quality about him that is similar to Roy Jones, so in a couple of years, I may change my mind.

Shakur will likely get the super fights first, though. Boots is gonna be avoided for a long time.

How much of it is real ambition and how much is lip service? The welter weight division is one of the weakest weight division in boxing. If you Take away Crawford and Spence Boots had no real competition. Boots might be a big fish in a very small pond. I'd like to see him move up and Challenge Charlo or Crawford at 154.

You Obviously MISSED the Part Where Bud Said Boots was a "Lose-Lose Situation" for Him...Charlo Has Made ZERO Mention of Facing Boots...EVER...

Stanionis, Thurman, Ugas, Verg Ortiz; Those are CREDIBLE Welters...Verg is Having Issues Making '47, Thurman/Ugas Deem Boots "High Risk/Low Reward" Just as Spence and Crawford Do, Leaving Stanionis as Literally THE Only Name Welter ENTERTAINING the Idea of Facing Boots @ All...

REED Gets It, You DON'T Want to Like Boots Ennis & That's YOUR Prerogative, But Him Being Avoided is Very Much REAL Bruh, Not Manufactured...

I'm not trolling at all bro. This is a genuine question for me. Although I watch boxing and have seen a few of Boots' fights, I can't claim to stay updated on all the behind-the-scenes boxing rumors. Given that you're a YouTuber with a boxing channel, you're likely more equipped to address this. Could you tell me who has avoided fighting Boots? I know Crawford called him out and dismissed the idea that Boots ever challenged him. I trust Crawford's stance, as I think facing him would be a big challenge for Boots at this stage. I think Boots is a great talent but he's capping saying Crawford is ducking him.

Bud for 10 years climb the ladder in boxing to reach its peak undisputed, undefeated welterweight champion of the world. He’s not going to risk it all one fight later & get bludgeoned by Boots…

In a different time, era, Bud would fight his mandatory…in November/December, in Philly, pack the Wells Fargo Center. Sell ~600-700k ppv, the media will get behind it, boxing fans will get behind it, casual who know will get behind it, black people will get behind it, hip hop will get behind it….FUK 700k I think with Bud new popularity & the real threat of Boots it can do more than a million buys.

2 Be CLEAR, REED Doesn't Recall Using the Word "Duck" In Regards to Boots/Bud/Charlo...

@ the ELITE Level, Few if ANY Fighters Are AFRAID Of Other Fighters...

As CRITICAL As REED's Been of the Canelo-David Benavidez Situation, REED's Also Made it CLEAR He Doesn't Believe For 1 Second Canelo FEARS Benavidez...But the FACT Is, Benavidez is BAD for Business @ This Stage of Canelo's Career, So He's AVOIDING Benavidez...Same Principle w/Boots & Bud Crawford...Bud Crawford DOESN'T Fear Anyone, But @ THIS Stage of Bud's Career (Spence 2, Charlo and Potentially Canelo Looming), Boots is BAD for Business...

And Bud RECENTLY Calling a Boots Fight a "Lose-Lose Situation" Rubber Stamps REED's Point...

Bud ISN'T "Ducking" Boots in the TRUEST Sense of the Term, But He's AVOIDING Boots, Undeniably...

Good point. I wish the business of boxing was as simple as a fight night video game, where #2 faces #1 as they steadily move up the ladder. But we all know that promotional issues, politics, and timing often hinder matchups. This is nothing new. Examples like Mayweather-Pacquiao and Joshua-Wilder, Tyson-Lewis show how super fights have faced challenges since the beginning of time. And you're right, even though fighters might not be afraid (except for Roy, who was really scared of Dariusz Michalczewski), business considerations can lead to fights being avoided. It's unfortunate when these circumstances prevent us, fans, from witnessing the best matchups. Again, I'm with you 100%.

However, what's concerning is when fighters like Boots attempt to generate interest by accusing others of ducking, while not consistently facing top-tier opponents themselves. The credibility of such claims diminishes when they are accompanied by less challenging fights against opponents with less than stellar boxing records. The last thing boxing needs is another Demetrius Andrade on our hands, who is infamous for being vocal about "being avoided by top-tier opponents," yet he himself has not always taken on the toughest challenges. Notably, he's been criticized for not pursuing fights with fighters like the Charlos, despite claiming others were ducking him. This highlights the complexity of boxers making claims about being ducked while not always stepping up to face the best opposition themselves. It's important for fighters to back up their words with actions to maintain credibility in the boxing community. That's all I'm saying, bro.
