Not to be morbid but it might take something similar to Alianza Lima.

I was thinking the same. The way that changed from a close 2-1 to 5-1 in the blink of an eye was scary.

Wish it was being shown live in the States. It's not. As usual, I'm gonna have to like 5 days before it's available here on replay.

If football was like basketball where you can have a "two star system" and build around them, Norweigia would be a factor in the international game.

Nice win for Arse. Joe King will be a happy boy right now.

On another note Rashford is very good player. I'm not sure if it's just me, but it feels like he has extra gears but for whatever reason willingly or not can't kick into them very often. With Kai Havertz it's similar.

I still think Arsenal will have a very saucy season ahead of them. A tough act to follow was last season.

The problem is the points total that City have been putting up under Guardiola. You look at Arsenal today and think nah, regardless of the result, it's not always going to go your way the way you play currently, which means a few draws and losses, which means that you're not likely a title contender

    Right?

I was getting off work. I put the Premier League on one of the TVs in the patient rooms. I was thinking, "WTF, I thought Newcastle played yesterday." Then I see it's Man U. Jesus H.

Adidas are the worst for it right now which is a shame because all they need to do is stick the stripes on a classic trad design and 90% of fans will love it

The celtic strip looks like ninja turtles pyjamas this year

    20230904_084446.jpg

So bad that thousands of fans started buying this fake alternate design instead
    20230904_083755.jpg

It sold so well that Celtic/adidas.... copied the fake design verbatim and released it as an official 'special edition' strip this week! Genuine fake, £79.99

This. Would have been fine in previous seasons, but you really have to get 3 points consistently. City will always have that period in a season where they reel off 15 wins in a row. The worrying thing for the rest is that City seem to have hit the ground running this time. Sometimes they start a little slowly and it allows another side to build a bit of a cushion before the inevitable City charge (like Arsenal last year), but it doesn't look like that will happen this time.

For all the talk about Messi at Inter Miami, their goalkeeper (Callender I think his name is), is really good. Been impressed by him.

I can see Man City returning to ~100 point form this season, Arsenal probably had their chance last year

I would say that it only needs to include one member of staff. There is no way that Man City can retain their focus or commitment to tactical innovation until Guardiola pisses off on sabbatical. The combination of his talents, unlimited finances, the owners' willingness to facilitate him completely, plus City not having much of a history, has been a perfect set of circumstances for the club. A few different clubs will have a chance to add titles when he walks away.
