Burnley possibly with the manager they have and their relative temporal proximity to the bigtime might stay up

Sheffield and Luton look fucking clueless

Ajax losing 3-0 at home to feyenoord....their fans deliberately get the game abandoned by throwing flares on the pitch.

I don't even class them as "Sarf". It's just not "Sarf" in the same way Palace or Millwall are. That said .. Ironically.... Palarse and Millwall have since had AT LEAST 3 attempts to match Wimbledon's cup run and failed utterly each time.

Kind applause for the recently departed Maddie Kucszak of Sheffield United Ladies at today's Sheffield Vs Newcastle game.

On the 8th minute, everybody stood to applaud.

"SHE wore the number 8 shirt with such distinction " said the BBC commentator.

Sheffield proceed to concede eight goals.

At least Blackburn won it in the PL era.

I have been following since '04 & Derby County & Sunderland have always been woeful in the Prem. Same for Norwich but it's weird that they bounce back up so often.

Norwich were good in the very very early Prem.

Plus they were involved in probably the 2nd greatest EPL game of all time.

No prizes for guessing which the greatest was...

Norwich could well have won the inaugural Premier League, they had an excellent side and were leading the table for ages. Their run that year was really mad, obviously they won loads of matches, but when they lost, they lost heavy. I think they lost one match 7-0 and another 6-0 or something. They actually ended up with a negative goal difference despite finishing in 3rd place.

    Ah hold on now :Jest:

Yes it was a great save.

Liverpool gave up way too many chances....Van Dijk was so slow, so slow to react to that cross.

    Norwich and Villa finished 3rd,2nd.

I couldn't put a date on it but there came a point when that sort of "diversity" disappeared from the top of the league table.

It solidified pretty quickly into United,Arsenal,Liverpool and one other, by 2004, that other was Chelsea.

Remember them playing Bayern & Inter in Europe? They knocked out one of them, I think it was Bayern

Ajax vs Feyenoord was suspended yesterday because Ajax fans decided to throw flares on the pitch after halftime because their boys were getting thrashed 3 nil.

Ajax is in terrible form this year.

Cant believe Rangers have never done that when Celtic have been strolling it at Ibrox...union bears must not be able to afford enough flares

Yes thats right, they were the ONLY British team to ever beat Bayern at the old Olympic Stadium, which is pretty mental. Then they went out to Inter in the next round, who had Bergkamp up front.

Actually it would be funny if either side did every time they appeared headed for a loss. You look at the head to head history and every match is a draw or no contest. :Jest:

It would be like in pro wrestling where there is a double disqualification.

The reason (almost) every old firm is at 12pm, to prevent drinking/disorder, traces back to a game in 99 where rangers won the league at Celtic park and the crowd disorder got so bad it was *right* on the verge of being called off. The ref was bleeding, about 5 other guys from the crowd had been tackled trying to get to him, a guy even fell off the upper tier at one point. The ref fucking deserved it tbf. If flares had been a thing then that game would've lasted about 12 minutes:Jest:

It happened a long time ago at an Ireland-England match. Irish fans started breaking off seats or a parts of the ground and throwing them on to the pitch. From memory it happened after England scored a goal to go up 1-0.

After I posted this I started thinking I may have had the fans reversed. Right. It was the England fans who threw a tantrum. There had to be more to that story. Like maybe they were on a bad streak or the coach was unpopular or something. Because who would sabotage their own team's ability to come back from 1-0?
