I thought he had slipped, he hasn't YET. He looked quicker than Charlo, and that was supposed to be an advantage for Charlo.

Just rewatched the Bivol fight. In that fight, canelo did pretty much the same thing he did to Charlo. Came after him, loaded up, ripped shots. One thing you see is canelo does not trade and this is one reason Bivol was so successful. He could just coverup and then go on offense after canelo was done unloading. Bivol also kept that jab going in between Canelo's spurts. I do think canelo has tightened his defense since the bivol fight though. And charlo probably had a harder time than he expected landing clean.

 

I think Canelo would've fought him, he wanted to unify, that much was obvious, Bene had one of the belts, and lost it...

Benevidez defense sucks, he's been dropped, that's a terrible recipe for a Canelo fight.

 

I think benavidez size and activity will be biggest challenge for canelo.

Exactly Benevides doesn't outshine Canelo in any department. Canelo packs a bigger punch (as seen against Plant), has superior defense, is quicker, possesses a higher ring IQ, wayyyy more experience, and has a stronger chin. The only edge Benevides has is his size. BUT... Canelo has faced and conquered opponents who were bigger and taller, which means Benevides size advantage might just make him an easier target. He'll be like a big piñata in the ring. Don't waste your time bro this is the most anti Canelo forum I post at.
