Home fans being sick of huge numbers of away fans celebrating inevitable victories, mainly. But its hurting the clubs in the pocket directly and, for many games, resulting in way more empty seats and crappier atmospheres for TV audiences. Which for a league already struggling to market itself, can't help

Celtic play Athletico for the first time since 1974, tomorrow....if that game had been reffed today Athletico would have finished with about 5 men, the footage is unreal. As was they finished with 9 men and scraped a 0-0 draw to reach the final with the cops having to separate the players at full time. Old yins still rage about it

Anyway, I was just chatting with a guy in work who went to that game aged 14 with his 40 year old dad. Tomorrow he's going to Celtic-Athletico with his 40 year old son and 14 year old grandson! I love that shit. THE CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB....its there, and its always there.

Whatever happens now, what a 45m performance. Not like last year when we had Real rocking but were buring up 90m of energy in 60m, proper tactically composed and smart. We were the same against Lazio tbf and dominated them for the last hour- just need a wee bit of luck to see it out this time

I think what happened on the pitch at Celtic Park tonight was respectfully secondary in importance. Being told you couldn't bring a certain flag in there and then rocking up with not just one but thousands of them.....that's the ticket

Tel Aviv told London who told Glasgow who told Celtic FC who told their fans who told them all to fuck off and do one.

You wonder how hard UEFA bring the hammer down this time. 'Politics in football' is clearly fine but Celtic won't stop making politics political. The view from my bit:

Everton are clearly a danger to the level playing field we've worked so hard to get. Like the bad boy in school, they must be punished, severely.

Bit of a reality check for NUFC last night. Not fatal but they probably need a point away to Dortmund and PSG and then wreck Milan at home....Dortmund are such an antithesis to PSG in terms of how they deal with difficulty.

There is a period from 1960 through to about 1980 when football was about as bent as bent could be.

Tonali banned for 19 months. That's a real sickener.£55m. Paperweight.

That Fuckstard Fabrizio Romano tried to say on twitter that the guy was banned due to a "gambling addiction scandal".

No mate. That's not why he was banned...

Just found out yesterday a guy on my team at work also follows LFC.

Damn. A lot of Yanks are Liverpool fans. That's definitely the most popular Prem side over here.

It's weird, I used to go to Colorado a lot in the early 2010's and it seemed like Man U were the English team that was supported. I say that but I convinced a bunch of them to become QPR fans so there might be a weird pocket there :Jest:

On the whole though it definitely seemed like there were more Man U fans I encountered in the US. Would genuinely be interested in how many City fans are there now.

I said this several times last season. Everton have one breach and it involves losing too much money in a certain period of time. Man City have over a hundred breaches regarding spending. Let's guess who they come after. No surprise.

    It's Man U by a mile still.

But Man U fans have a reputation of guys who have either:

    a) been following the Prem for two months

    OR

    b) been following for 20 years and have watched about six matches and couldn't name five guys on the current squad.

I know one Man City fan who follows them seriously and has for at least ten years. Maybe a little longer. He's never stepped foot in the UK so he's still a plastic to me but he's alright. Whenever he tries to give me shit about Everton, I just remind him I have been to the Etihad and sat in the Man City section for a League Cup semifinal. (True to form, the Emptyhad was 25% empty. Everton's section was sold out, overflowing with Everton fans all through the Man City section.)

Lots of plastic fans regardless of club for sure, but i would guess Man United have the most "supporters" based upon name recognition. A lot of it has to with soccer coverage in North America.

It really doesn't matter how they're doing they're nearly always in the top clubs covered. Put "Manchester United" in a headline regardless of what the story is and i guess it must get views/clicks..

    Definitely.

The clubs with the most plastics would be the clubs at the top because that's what plastics are drawn too.
