That shit with the flag was all strategic by Hopkins. He wouldn't need to do any of that shit to win every round vs Alvarez.

Canelo's chin has passed the test with flying Colors. How many times has Trinidad been dropped? Hurt? By B level Vargas. I've been trying to be nice but Tito is overrated. Dlh won at least 8 rounds even if you gave Trinidad every swing round, that was a robbery. Joppy was garbage no better than any of the bums GGG knocked out at mw on a regular basis. His victory over Pea was overrated because Whittaker was coked out after the Oscar money came in. Obacarr is ass, Pineda was garbage and Mayorga was B level. Canelo has a granite chin, knockouts at 175 and has legitimately beat better guys(take away the Dlh robbery). In what paralell universe does Cheeto beat Canelo?

They interviewed Hopkins and he himself said it would be a difficult fight. Most boxing experts and in most non bias boxing forums they seem to be split 50/50 on who would win between Hopkins and Canelo. And as for Tito vs Canelo most agree Canelo beats TIto above 154.

Other than GGG and Kovalev(who was past his prime/dead due to having 4 fight in a 15-18 month span in one of those fight he got knockout by another Alvarez). MANY FANS are of the opinion that Kovalev threw the fight….everyone Canelo has fought at 160 and above are B-, C level fighters...Chavez Jr. Fielding, Avni, Callum, Ryder, Billy Joe all C or lower level fightes.

Jacobs was okay...Plant is/can PROVE himself still in the future, Charlo was a lil 154 pounder moving up 2 division....Bivol who might improve from B level to A or A+ was a cutie pie who beat Canelo so thoroughly that a PRIME CANELO doesn't want to go for the return fight...

I mean, if we’re really gonna do this, we can pick apart Canelo’s resume allllllllllllll day. His best wins have come over guys that are mediocre at best(Saunders, Plant), too small (Cotto, Charlo), over the hill (Golovkin, Kovalev), or suspect (Lara, Trout). He was shut out by Bivol, and an over the hill Mayweather. Add to that all the selective match making/dodging mandatories, catch weights, clauses, and PED usage, Canelo is the one who is overrated. Dude even had his own weight class at one point.

Based on all that, the evidence points more towards Canelo being overrated. Especially in todays era of fighters fighting once a year, and literally get to PICK their opponents.

I would rather have Trinidad’s resume any day of the week. Not only has he beaten better guys at their absolute PEAK, he also didn’t need the deck fully stacked in his favor to win those fights.

If you give Canelo the same opponents Trinidad fought, id say he loses to Oscar at 154, probably loses to prime Vargas and gets thrashed by Hopkins at 160. I don’t see Trinidad losing to Lara or an old Mayweather. And he damn sure wouldn’t have needed to go the distance with any version of Cotto.

We could go on and on.

The same way that Leonard once said that Yury Foreman would have beaten him when he was promoting Foreman.

There you go see for yourself hater. Date Nov 12, 2021 definitely was not under Golden Boy at the time.

Said that before the Canelo vs Plant fight.

People will say anything. Dmitriy Salita used to have this little fat manager that would go around telling everyone he was so dangerous they couldn't get fights. Lol. Dana White telling idiots that Ronda Rousey would "rag doll" Floyd. Naz telling people his son is "better than me".....rubbish.

A)Hopkins said this after the Caleb Plant fight, Canelo had already split from Golden Boy promotions.

B)I didn't say he would beat Bernard, old snaggle tooth himself said it would be a difficult fight and would approach it cautiously. But I guess you fat couch potatoes know best. From all those years of jacking off to Tito Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. fights. What the hell do those hall of famers know right? Again, I never once said he'd beat Hopkins I said he'd put up a better fight than Cheato. Big difference.

All this back in forth, we all have our opinions. I say, the fair thing is to reassess after Canelo retires, the book is not closed, he can prove himself further, however, that is up to him. For Canelo, it's going to be a totality of work, not "he beat the higher caliber fighters vs his contemporaries, because there are no "greats" or top ten P4P fighters to fight, unless he fights Bivol again. I'm not sure that's happening, Bivol wants the fight at 168 so he can become undisputed, and Canelo wants the fight at the original weight so he would receive full credit instead of him fighting "weight drained" Bivol even if it's at Bivol's request.

It's a complicated question. I honestly didn't realize Tank was such a big draw. Boxing is a global sport so I'm not sure any boxer in the world is as famous as Canelo right now. Ofcourse ignorant American boxing fans will say it's Tank or Boots. But outside of hardcore boxing fans nobody knows who boots is. If we go by embassadors Tank is a piss poor example. A woman beater that will most likely end up in prison within the next 5 years. Canelo is on his way out but for now he is the face of boxing.

Boots still has a long way to go before he can take that mantle.

The issue wasnt the weight. if you pay attention to what alvarez said it was "Ill fight him again with the SAME TERMS." meaning he wanted bivol to take whatever short money he made the first fight. perhaps Bivols team should have accepted that, because he pretty much squandered the entire 2023, a year of his physical peak he'll never get back.

Allegedly Ennis has been getting 1.3 million per fight from Showtime. Who knew?

He was hanging out in the MGM near the lobby for 20 or 30 minutes and not one single person, aside from me, recognized him or approached him. Speaks to his level of fame.

I actually know someone that's very close to the Munguía family and she keeps on insisting he's fighting Canelo next. I thought she was full of shit. Not her per say. I can see the family talking about it at the dinner table and she may have over heard it; But whether or not it materializes remains to be seen.

Jermall Charlo would perform better against Hopkins primarily due to his power and physical size advantage compared to Tito. Tito was a fat blown up welterweight when he moved up to middleweight and had a susceptible chin. There's no compelling reason to think that Hopkins could stop Jermell. I understand you desire to believe that Hopkins was a devastating middleweight puncher who was knocking out opponents left and right, but the truth is he wasn't, which makes his knockout of Trinidad even more surprising and sad for Tito fans.

Uhh boy.....CHARLO's POWER & Physical size advantage over Tito??? What are you talking about?

Sounds like you are just trying to overhype Jermell Charlo just so you can enhance Canelo's victory over him...at 165-167.

The best either Charlo can hope for is a beating like the one Joppy took(if they run away from Hopkins and make it a negative fight)...but the more likely outcome is that Hopkins finish them both off before round 10...neither one of those guys are as tough or good as Glen Johnson.
