Is that a real question. Even his most devoted fans wouldn't dare say Canelo was greater than Roy. Truth be told 60% of Mexican hard core and casual boxing fans can't stand Canelo and think he's a fraud. The other 40 percent see him for what he is a very good borderline great fighter that belongs to be mentioned among the elite Mexican boxers but is somewhat overrated due to his good matchmaking. And his personality is awful. He doesn't do himself any favors when he talks. Like when he refuses to fight Mexicans or fight guys with "boring styles" like Andrade. Not a good look for a champion to publicly admit he flat out refuses to fight some guys. I mean in my days champions took on all comers. That was bad ass like Tyson. Sure it happens where ducking goes on. But at least have a little shame don't hurt your image by saying it publicly. That's my gripe with Canelo.

 

In the Lamont Peterson vs Amir Khan rematch in 2012 both tested dirty for steroids and there was even talks of cancellation of the fight. So much for your lame RJ defense.

Boxing is so corrupt that when boxing super stars like Roy Jones, Shane Mosley, Erik Morales, Pacquio tested positive for steroids was easily swept under the rug. Even when caught redhanded they circumvent the punisment. A good example of this is Lamont Peterson who tested positive for steroids in Nevada and wasn't allowed to fight so he defended his title against Holt in his home town of DC instead... while pending an investigation by the Nevada State Commission.

Roid is a steroid cheat no question about it and so is Holyfield but because of their great talent people turn a blind eye. You have enablers in every sport covering and minimizing their illegal behavior. Kobe raped that woman at the resort but because he was a famous well loved athlete nobody could believe he did it and eventually got away with it. Boxing is no different. We have nuttswingers covering for their idols all the time.

 

Why? So we can assume he blew all his money? On what, gambling?

They all take steroids.

Also having super tiny trace amounts of tren or clen would never show up in athletic commission tests. Things like LH, epi/t ratios etc which are better indicators of cheating were also likely way elevated (or surpressed). I worked with someone who helped develop some tests working out of Nevada he said false positives are way less than 1% but the athletes have their excuses before they ever potentially fail to have plausible deniability. (Think Jon Jones dick pills).

Close to a zero percent chance either roy or canelo were clean. I bet Roy is now though :)

Btw Roy got robbed vs Pettis I thought he won easy.

In my experience nearly all of the high level mma fighters / boxers I have ever been around used some version of testosterone and they nearly all played dumb and only admitted it second hand (I found out from others they did it, then they would go oh yeah I do some testosterone but not steroids )

When theraputic exemptions were allowed it was extremely common and discussed and is now back to hush hush.

Similarly I ended up working in golf which I picked up in my mid/late 20s and a vast majority of the professionals use beta blockers / stimulants but it is nearly never mentioned and the general public / fanbase is seemingly unaware.

 

He aint coming back until you replace the hubcaps you stole off his car.

Beta blocker? what the hell do beta blockers do for golfers exactly ?...they must have been pulling your leg. Beta blockers like atenol were used to treat hypertension and tachycardia. It's an old people pill. I think you're thinking of nitro or Cialis the yellow pill for ED. It's supposed to help not only give you a hard on but get you pumped and raise your testosterone levels. Lots of body builders use it.

 

Shooters use beta blockers too. The point is to make you feel calm and stop hands from shaking. I'd assume golfers try the same
